Hello, I'm Mrs. LaFaye, the owner of "The House of Angels Christian Childcare". I'm a 24 year old mother of three boys, my husband makes #4. I became inspired to do my own in-home day care about 4 years ago. I've been assisting others with their childcare for 10 years now.
I named the childcare "The House of Angels Childcare" in memory of DaCoreyon Ra-Mon Howard who never got a chance at life. He's a angel in heaven helping me watch over your angels. Smile!!!
It all started in 1997 when someone volunteered me to help out the summer camp at Cedar Valley Christian Center. Soon after that, I was an assistant coach for a boys little league basketball team at the Bonnie View Recreation Center. In 1998 I coached both boys and girls track. In 2000 I became a volunteer teacher for the Vickery Meadow Elementary School Summer Camp. As you can see, I love working with children.
I am certified by the American Red Cross in infant and child CPR and first aid. I am not the perfect provider, I am not the best provider around, I can't do everything perfectly, BUT with God's help I will do my very best every day to provide the best care I possibly can, to love, teach, and care for the children who have been entrusted to my care. I believe that each of these children are gifts from God that we are only borrowing them from Him. I know that I learn as much from them as I am able to teach them. Together we discover something new and wonderful each day!
I am a professional Child Care Provider, not a babysitter, and as such expect my clients to show respect for my home, family, and myself. I am also a small business owner. My fees, hours and policies are well thought out and non-negotiable. Please keep in mind that I am also a *working parent.* Like you, I too have family demands on my time and a life outside of daycare. I would love for your family to have a chance to enjoy all that my childcare has to offer, but in order for us to have a successful placement for your child you must read and fully accept my terms before we sign a contract.
I welcome your family into my heart and home. It is often difficult for working parents to balance all the commitments and responsibilities in their lives. When your child is at my child care, you will receive peace of mind knowing that your child is being loved and taken care of much in the same fashion that you yourself would provide. I offer a safe, loving environment where your child will be accepted, loved, nurtured, and stimulated.
I provide high quality childcare in a relaxed environment where children are allowed to be children and learning is fun. I believe that family involvement is essential to any quality childcare program and I encourage parent participation. You, of course are the primary focus for your child; but during the day, and for many hours, I am the support to whom they come, look to, and depend upon. I take this role very seriously, both as a profession and as a way of life.

I will use my knowledge to offer stimulating, developmental activities when your child is ready for them. They include music and movement, outdoor play, practical life and sensorial activities (play dough, sand and water exploration, etc.), arts and crafts, pre-reading and pre-math skills, quiet story and sharing times, manipulatives, dramatic play, lots of laughter, hugs, and love.
I strive to meet your child's physical, intellectual, social, and emotional needs. I feel children learn best in a loving, organized, natural learning environment. Your child will learn something new everyday by being a part of our extended family. Your child will learn important values such as patience, sharing, responsibility, compassion for self and others, communication, and teamwork.
To facilitate greater understanding between us I have created this handbook. It covers my childcare philosophies, business policies and expectations. In order to make our relationship as enjoyable as possible, the following pages contain mutually beneficial requirements that are necessary to ensure that there are no misunderstandings between either party. When reading this handbook, anything pertained to me/my or us/we shall be directed to LaFaye/"House of Angels". Parent/guardian or client shall mean the person who has obtained my childcare services, and who is financially responsible for payment of said services.
Please read this handbook carefully, and feel free to discuss with me any questions that you may have. If you have ANY questions, please ask them! It is very important that we communicate openly from the start! Thank you!
