Here is a recent article about the Kurds
As the articles at this same Website demonstrate, the Kurds have had a heavy hand of punishment over them (as is prophesied to be the case with the tribes of the Hebrews while in exile).
Their story is that of a long history of persecution and of a struggle for an independent national homeland (that continues to this day).
