Wednesday, September 12, 2001: TCS holds its general introductory meeting in Loker Commons.

Wednesday, September 19, 2001: TCS holds the first Taiwanese Table of the year in Quincy Dining Hall.

Thursday, September 20, 2001: TCS holds open elections for first-year representatives for the first time in Loker Commons' Green Room. Michael Chiu, Crystal Fahr, Patricia Foo, Karen Lo, Margaret Hsieh, Karen Shieh, and Christine Tsai run for the formerly traditionally appointed positions, with Michael Chiu and Christine Tsai emerging as the winners of the election.

Sunday, September 23, 2001: TCS goes on its first brunch run of the year, taking members into Chinatown for brunch at Taiwan Cafe. Later that afternoon, the TCS ultimate frisbee season opens with a practice and throw-around at JFK Park.

Thursday, September 27, 2001: TCS celebrates the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival by hosting a moon-cake-making workshop, co-sponsored with the Harvard Hong Kong Club. The event starts out in DeWolfe Common Room for moon-cake-making, but eventually moves out to the banks of the Charles River where TCS and HHKC members light lanterns and set them afloat (and in some cases, aflame) on the river

Friday-Saturday, September 28-29, 2001: TCSers travel to Pennsylvania State University for the third annual ITASA East Coast Leadership Retreat.

Saturday, October 13, 2001: BITSA holds an introductory meeting/picnic get-together at Harvard's JFK Park.

Tuesday, October 16, 2001: TCS hosts Tang Fei, former premier of Taiwan, who leads a discussion entitled "Looking at Taiwan's Role as Global Player in the 21st Century and Discussing the Political Future of Taiwan". The discussion is held in the Loker Commons Coffeehouse.

Wednesday, October 17, 2001: TCS co-sponsors a candlelight vigil against domestic violence. Held in front of the Harvard Science Center, the event is led by Harvard Law School student and TCS alumna Karen Guo, and is additionally co-sponsored by the Harvard Asian American Association, Asian American Brotherhood, Chinese Students Association, and Half-Asian Peoples Association, HLS's Asian Pacific American Law Students Association, Stop Domestic Violence, and the Women's Law Association, and the Asian Task Force on Domestic Violence.

Thursday, October 25, 2001: TCS holds a movie showing in the Kirkland House Grille.

Saturday, October 27, 2001: Wellesley College's Taiwanese Cultural Committee, in collaboration with the Wellesley Taiwanese-American Students Association and the Boston Intercollegiate Taiwanese Students Association, hosts the fourth annual BITSA conference. The conference program features keynote speakers Congressman Sherrod Brown (D,OH) and Chinese-American film producer Ms. Jenyng Wu.

    Saturday, November 3, 2001: TCS goes on a dim-sum brunch run into Chinatown. Later that evening, TCS participates in the Harvard Asian American Association's annual Cultural Extravaganza.

    Thursday, November 8, 2001: TCS holds a movie showing in the Kirkland House Grille, showing Grave of the Fireflies.

    Monday, November 12, 2001: Due to the Veteran's Day holiday, TCS decides to go on yet another brunch run.

    Friday, November 16, 2001: TCSers traveling to New Haven, Connecticut, for The Game between the Harvard and Yale football teams meet up with their counterparts in the Yale Taiwanese American Society for dinner. TAS members additionally provide housing for TCSers without other arrangements.
