May: on the 14th, Mothers Day, Most of my family went to the Cardinals game to be “The Family of the Game”, some of them used the free tickets my mom had won, but they got to come down and sit with us in the box.   We got free drinks, including beer, Tom and Eric were feeling no pain, I wonder if they even know who won?  We got free brats and hotdogs and the staff really made us feel like someone special.  It was such a great game; the cards beat the Dodgers 12-10. There was so much action!!  Too bad I was too busy watching everyone else and making sure that the kids didn’t fall out of the box.   It was my nephew’s first ballgame, boy what a way to start it out!!   When it came time to select a locker, he asked if I wanted the free four tickets I had already won or if I wanted to go for a locker.  I said, “I want to go for a locker”. He then said, “what if I offered you a thousand dollars and a cruise”, I said, ”I would take that”, he said, “Well I am not offering that.” Geez…I couldn’t imagine why not…  So I chose locker #2. I won dinner for four at the Stadium Club, which is the most elite place in Busch Stadium.  Me-Maw (My mom) got sprayed with silly string in front of the entire stadium, HAHA Mom! Fred Bird came in to see us, the first look at him by my nephews and niece was a funny one; they just stood there, looked at him and screamed!
The day after Memorial Day my Aunt Kathy, my little cousin Heather, and my mother showed just what kind of people they are, WONDERFUL!!! A house down the road from my mothers and my aunts house was ablaze and those three and a man I don’t know did every thing they could to try and get the Children out … while the more prominent neighbors just stood around and watched. Unfortunately two children didn’t make it…. My sympathy goes out to the family of those children and to mine because I know they felt responsible for not getting those children out in time, even though they saved five other children’s lives.  I know it was and still is a hard time for all of them.

June:
Unfortunately my dad and step moms’ divorce became final. Joy will always be a step mom to me… I have been very lucky, I may not have had my parents living together while I was growing up but I could not of asked for a better step-father or step-mother, I am very privileged.

Not much else went on in June other than Cardinal games, jury duty and work!

July: Another real exhilarating month; went to a cards game with some friends from work and a family friend, Ducky. I was the sober chauffer, as I was driving my bosses explorer on the way home she told me “Don’t wreck it I fill out your evaluation” hmmm she really knows how to scare someone!

August:
I got a raise… my third one in 3 ½ years (not including annual raises…which I have another one in December) I am pretty happy with that and apparently I didn’t wreck my boss’s vehicle, oh no …or we will see in December when she fills out my evaluation.  My mom, aunt Kim, Nana and I went to the Cardinal’s game and sat in the Stadium Club with some of the most influential people at the game! It is a wonderful place, you sit behind a glass window, in the air-condition, which this day happen to work out well because it rained until we got there and then when it stopped it got so HOT! They have a buffet with chicken and beef and a few things I couldn’t pronounce, but there weren’t any hotdogs or nachos.  Don’t get me wrong it was very neat and exclusive but Iwouldn’t want to sit up there all the time.  No one screamed and this was a game worth screaming for, the Cards shut out the Braves 5 -0.

I got my direct TV, which I would like to add that I hate!  On the 23rd my mother brought me some flowers with her wedding set in them from when my mom and dad were married. (I was promised the diamond to do with as I wish… so I hocked it… NO!  Just playing Mom.) It is a sentimental piece and I will have it forever.  She gave it to me on what would have been my mom and dads 31st anniversary!

I took a weeks vacation and didn’t do much at all, I didn’t even clean my house, but I did get some swim time in because it was one of the hottest weeks of the year.

Kaleb, my 5-year-old nephew started Kindergarten, which just doesn’t seem possible.

September: The same sweet boy Kaleb was put in the hospital for severe dehydration.  I couldn’t imagine that skinny little thing with an IV in his little bitty arm.  I found out my mother was going to have neck surgery again. On none other than Friday the 13th of October.   I found this out the same day I sent out the email “Something to think about…” (Attached)  so it really made me do some thinking.  I take way too many things for granted!! Also on that day the Cards clinched the National League Central Title. My aunt Kathy was put in the hospital for what they say was a virus but they didn’t really know.  On the 22nd I stood in line for 17 hours for National League Championship Series tickets, it was honestly a lot of fun.  I met a lot of really nice people and watched a lot of idiots!  Some sat in line for over 8 hours and finally got kicked out after security caught them with alcohol, alcohol wasn’t allowed in line which is probably a good thing considering these guys alone were really on my nerves. I couldn’t imagine everyone being snockered. One good thing was I had 21 frat guys behind me! (Ok I know a little young for me)

This was my last month of Jury Duty, nice to see taxpayer’s money hard at work by buying us pizza and a plaque with our picture on it for our services.
