October: My mother had her surgery; luckily it was October 12 (on Chad Allan’s birthday) instead of Friday the 13th.  I am beginning to think that October is a bad month, because last year (October 1999) my grandmother (Nana) had open heart surgery and my little cousin Heather had complications with her pregnancy, however my Nana, mom, Heather and Chad Allan are all doing great.  This year obviously Chad turned the Big ONE, and my oldest Nephew, Kaleb, our Halloween baby turned 6.  Although mom had to have surgery I really did enjoy the time I got to spend with her.

November: My mom bought me bedroom furniture and it was delivered this month, it is absolutely gorgeous, I know, I know I am spoiled!!! I also started training for my MCSD (Microsoft Certification Solutions Development) and maybe one day I will finish it.

In late November I went to Georgia to see Grant I had a really great time and I really miss him, he is coming here sometime with in the next few months.

December: I turned 27 …OH MY GOODNESS!!!  I had a superb birthday though.  My aunt gave me a St. Louis Cardinals blanket and my mom gave me a very lifelike Mark McGwire figurine, she totally surprised me with it though, she ordered herself one and I loved it; I was jealous because I really couldn’t afford to pay that much for something like that at the time.  I really wasn’t expecting anything but I am not complaining on what I got I love everything! Everyone else was so nice to me… I felt so special!

My mother fell at work and she was having some problems with her neck again, come to find out she just sprained her neck, I know she was really worried because she had just gotten to take off her neck brace and I am sure the thought of having to go through surgery for a fourth time was making things worse.

I took another weeks vacation.  We were suppose to go to the Mall of America in Wisconsin but my grandmother ended up having to have cataract surgery and I wanted to be around for that, besides I heard the weather was horrible so we are going to make the trip in May sometime before it is pool weather again.   Some vacation though, the heating element on my dryer went out sometime the week before, so I thought, I am so embarrassed to admit that my dad came out to fix it and all he had to do was push the top button all the way in, I am assuming that my basket of clothes accidentally hit the other buttons and pushed it out so it wasn’t heating right!  See I have been a dork again!  On the first day of my vacation my dishwasher shot sparks at me and needless to say, it doesn’t work now! My uncle David says it might not be as bad as it sounds, he said it could have just been a wire that got pinched since it blew the breaker. I am hoping he is going to come fix it for me. :o)  He has done so much at my house the way it is… everyone has… anytime I need anything done someone will make that trip out there and fix it or do it.  I am a very lucky person.

Christmas this year was a bit stressful for some.  We tried the Chinese Christmas thing this year at home and it was actually a lot of fun, even those that weren’t to keen on the idea still had fun. Our family is just getting too big to buy for everyone and no one in our family is in need of anything that they can’t buy for themselves.  I just really enjoy spending time with my family, nonetheless I am really happy when it is over though.  Christmas evening my aunt Kathy, my little cousin Heather (I am sure she loves me calling her my little cousin, she isn’t that little but she is 7 years younger than I am) and myself went to see “The Family man” starring Nicolas Cage.  I thought it was a pretty good movie, not to mention it was quiet in there!

On the 28th my mom, step-dad (Tom) and myself went to a St. Louis Blues game.  I like going to hockey games, and I hate to say it but it is because they are so violent!! There were 3 fights on this night, we missed the last one, it was when Simpson got laid out!!  CRAZY!! Apparently we are bad luck because the Blues had won 12 in a row until we go to a game and they get beat 5 to 2 by none other than the LA Kings…geez give me a break!  Sorry boys!

Another surprise topped off my year, on New Years Eve I went to work on my brothers’ computer and he gave me a baseball signed by none other the man himself, or maybe I should say my man, HA! YA RIGHT! MARK MCGWIRE… (Just to let any of you thieves know … the baseball along with all my other valuable McGwire memorabilia are locked up in a safe deposit box, however I do have pictures with me holding the items in my house if you decide to break in and you would like to steal those, but if you really want a picture of me that bad I will just have a copy made for you! HAHA  I also will not reveal Eric’s sources.)

This past year I didn’t spend a whole lot of time with my friends, nonetheless most of them were always there for me and I appreciate those showing me how much they cared during my rough times.  I did spend lots of time with my family.  I guess it is true what they say about how you spend your New Years Day is how you will spend the rest of your year; because I spent mine working and with my family, I don’t regret one minute I spent with them though.  Ok maybe a few minutes where I was nasty or hateful towards them.  I am very fortunate to have a family like I do and to be as close to them as I am. I love them all very much and regrettably I take them for granted; I just hope they all know how much I love them.
