Wow, what a horrible incident! I have had a few run-ins with the police, and I quickly learned that the stammering thing is a definate no-no! You can be completely innocent of all wrong doing, but if they rattle you, they will be forever suspicious. I have been fortunate to never have the weapon leave its holster, however.
There was a kidnap/rape near the Falls recently, so it is possible that they were looking for something serious like that. There is a distinct possibility that they are cracking down on guys cruizing. I have taken note of thatn activity near certain caches at Matheson and Kendall Indian Hammocks. I know that the pine rockland at Tropical is a known spot. (Some botantist friends of mine were doing filming in the area several years back, and guys were running away when they saw the camera). I'm not sure about Larry and Penny, but one time I was set to go after a lunch cache, and a plain clothes officer, out of the blue, asked me if "everything was okay?" which is a polite way of asking "What are you up to?".
Hope we don't see a repeat of such enforcement tacticts.

READ THIS LOG!!!second cache in this park of the day. so I find the cache and sit down on a nearby log to look through it. As I am looking down at the cache container on my lap I am SHOCKED!!!!! at what I notice . In the middle of my chest I notice there is a very bright red laser point....as my heart skips a beat I realize one of two thing is happening: one, someone is messing with me using a laser pointer, or two someone has a gun with a laser sight trained on my chest..... as I begin to look up I hear "HANDS IN THE AIR! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!!" I look up to see a Miami police officer 30 feet away with a Tazer gun aimed at me. I immeadiatly begin stammering through a very frightened explaination of geocaching. The cop was not immpressed . After a search of my person and a look at my ID I was led back to my car where I promptly drove out of the park. The photo in the previous log is no joke. be sure to check it out. Thanks for the cache.(I think? )
