An urban cache, easy to get to, but well hidden.

The Mahagony plant family or Meliaceae has only 4 representative species in South Florida. Two are cultivars, the Nyasaland mahogany (Khaya nyasica) and broomstick (Trichilia hirta). The other two trees are our native West Indian mahogany (Swietenia mahagoni) and an invasive exotic tree called Chinaberry (Melia azedarach), for which this cache was named. The well camouflaged container contains all items blue, particularly music.

I often rest at this spot during evening bike rides. It is an odd “tucked-away” vantage point that brings to mind the grassy knoll of JFK fame. Muggle activity should be low after hours.
