Son of Silas Corydon French and Minerva Miner Waugh was born July 16, 1873, in Wakeman, Ohio and died September 1, 1905. He married Ethel Julia Beecher on June 20, 1900, daughter of Elbert Beecher and Helen White. He is buried in the Wakeman Cemetery. Occupation was farmer. It is believed that his death was due to a burst appendix.

Children of ELBERT FRENCH and ETHEL BEECHER are: 2. ETHELBERTA14 FRENCH, b. June 23, 1901, Wakeman, Ohio; d. July 07, 1987. 3. WINTHROP BEECHER FRENCH, b. June 22, 1903, Wakeman, Ohio; d. April 02, 1993, Firelands Nursing Center, New London, Ohio. 4. ELBERT CLAIRE FRENCH, b. December 31, 1905, Wakeman, Ohio; d. March 19, 1993, Oberlin, Ohio-at home.

The attached picture is owned by Wayne French, Decatur, Illinois and shows Elbert and Ethel with daughter,  Ethelberta ca 1901-1902.
