The Peace Corps Page
The above graphic is the property of Peace Corps.
This page is not sponsored by nor affiliated with Peace Corps.
The Official Site - You can download a Peace Corps application, fill it out online (saving as you go) or just browse through information. However, don't expect good information on specific countries.
Crossroads - This site has links to more Peace Corps related sites than you can possibly imagine. I still haven't checked them all out. You can find names/e-mail addresses of people who have been to certain countries and you may even "bump" into someone who's leaving for the same country you are and in the same group! I did! :)
Volunteer Sites - Check out personal accounts from people who have been in the Peace Corps or have at least applied.
Making the World Better - Check out other volunteer opportunities as well as other organizations that try to give something back to the world.Info on Suriname - Websites and other information on the country where I spent nearly two months in PC training.
So, You Want to Join the PEACE CORPS ... What to Know Before You Go - by Dillon Banerjee. - It provides information in a question and answer format. I found it interesting and helpful when I was first trying to find information on Peace Corps. The Poisonwood Bible - by Barbara Kingsolver. - I read this book about a year after I returned from Suriname. There are many similarities between the maroon culture and the Congo culture represented in the book. If you have any questions or suggestions for me, you can send an e-mail or you can sign my guestbook below (which I know you were going to do anyway). Thanks for visiting and happy hunting!
If you have additional questions maybe someone on the list serv can help you. Even if you don't have questions, information and stories are sometimes displayed. To get on the list serv, send a message to: LISTSERV@CMUVM.CSV.CMICH.EDU with the subject reading: SUBSCRIBE PCORPS-L or click here and do the same thing.
