I decided it would be depressing to tune into the Spurs game on the radio last night, so after dinner I checked Sky Sports News to see it was 1-1. About 4 minutes later Villa went 2-1 up, to which I chuckled as the all to familiar words of “Oh dear, Robinson’s made a blunder” were spoken. I half jokingly said to keep Sky Sports on for another two minutes so I could see Villa go 3-1 up and I wasn’t let down. I checked the score again later in the evening and really did laugh as we were 4-1 down when all of a sudden in the final 30 minutes, Spurs made a blindingly recovery and thanks to an eventual injury time goal we finished with a 4-4 draw, with the fans at White Hart Lane going ecstatic. The sad thing is that Spurs are currently wallowing in the bottom three of the table, with only one win (against the mighty Derby) in eight games, with Arsenal at the top of the table with a game in hand, 13 more points and +14 goal difference. Should we really be that happy still being in the relegation zone and only just scraping a last minute draw against Aston Bloody Villa. Spurs is the team that spent very big bringing new players in and was being pipped to overtake Arsenal into 5th spot. At this stage in the season with the way we are playing, we’re going to be lucky to break into the top 10, yet alone the top 4. I still have every faith in the manager for what he has accomplished so far, so I am hoping this awful run of games is going to end soon and also that we haven’t screwed up the entire season already. If things don’t change though, then SPurs are in for drastic changes. Even if Jol is kept on as the manager, it’s only going to be so long before our big name players leave for teams that aren’t in the bottom three or other underperforming players are pushed out Next up we have Liverpool at Anfield. Somehow can’t see us beating them is we can’t even overcome Fulham The return of the glory days seem very, very distant at the moment.
