I will not visit
The four faces defacing
The Sacred Rock
For they took gold and pride
Left only poverty and misery
All this to show for
White man's tourism
I will not buy
Multi-colored precious gold
Known only to the
Sacred Grounds
Of the long forgotten
Sioux Nation
I will not encourage
American pride to slap
Faces of my Ancestors
My family, my home
I will not blame
My poor heritage
On lack of transportation
To the white man's bank,
Where the greedy no-good deed,
A million-dollar deal, awaits
Untouched still, to this day
In these black, black hills
I will not forget
My last life, my lost life
My Chief's smile…
In the good, simple, sacred
Forgotten days of old ways
Before the white man came
To blacken our hills
