Githa Angelsey
I'm a smooth dachshund! Besides being smooth, my coat is called red in doxie terms. I have lighter patches behind my shoulder blades, a darker stripe down my back, a blacker spot on my tail, and a black tail tip, but my most unique feature is the "moehawk" on my foehead and between my eyes!

Don't you know doggies are colorblind?
I'll still be a small dog.
My parents are Mighty Max, the most awesome dad ever, and Molly Sue, a real sweetheart. My dad is so nice, he even helped take care of me when I was born!
Ok, so they're not "people," but on my list of neat people are my breeders, my cousin Susan and her parents, and, of course, my owners.

(Why don't they make a show about Githa the Little Red Dog?)
I'm too little to read, but Ari and Leilia said they would help, and you can write to them as we_anoles@hotmail.com
I'm so cute!

My dad had a dog before he was married to my mom. She'd never lived with a dog before. The dog was a chihuahua-terrier mix and lived until I was 4 years old. I have bad allergies, and had chronic problems as a baby. One of the many things I'm allergic to is dogs. But, I'm not as allergic to dogs as other things. I've always been able to be around dogs and even play with them as long as I was careful not to rub my eyes or scratch my nose until I'd washed my hands.
A good friend of my dad's has an old dachshund, a smooth coat. I played with her a couple of times, outside, where there are loads of things I'm allergic to, like molds and pollen, so I didn't think anything of it. About 2 years ago he got a puppy, at the same time as his grown daughter. I went over and played with them, this time inside. I noticed something. My nose wasn't the slightest bit runny! I couldn't understand this phenomenon. The owner went on about how clean dachshunds are and that they never have doggie odor. I was curious about this so I looked it up. Smooth dachshunds are the only breed with no undercoat!!!
I carefully considered my newfound knowlodge. I've always wanted a dog but knew it was out of the question. And now it isn't! I can have a dachshund! But I had to consider where I am in my life, and discuss it with my parents. So, after over a year of thinking about it and making sure I'm ready to handle a dog, now, I needed to find one! That was easier said than done. I do NOT support puppy mills, knowing some dogs that came from puppy mills. No creature deserves to live in misery. I couldn't go to a shelter, though I do support their causes, because it was so important that I get a purebred. I needed to find a responsible breeder!
I came across several responsible breeders through my search, but they all seemed to be too far away, or to have long or wire-haireds instead of smooths! I think this is a little odd considering that dachshunds are the 4th most popular pet dog.
I started this page as an outlet for my frustration, and in the hopes that I could make it in honor of a new family member in the future!
And as a message to my companion ...
