Daniel Isaac (Issac?)
EYRE was born about 1836 in Woodlands, Derbyshire, England. He
was called "Ike" and his father, George, was a Gamekeeper.
Isaac's siblings were Ann, Mary, Eliza, Harriet born about 1843, Gena, Adeline, Fanny and John. Some were said to have been born in a cottage alongside the 'Snake Pass Inn' on the Sheffield to Glossop road (the A57). Eliza married ? and had two sons George and Garnet. Harriet married George HOLME and they had four children: John, Eliza, Dora and Georgina.
Isaac married Theresa HALL in December 1859 at St Philip Church, Sheffield, Yorkshire. Theresa was probably born at Bradfield, Yorkshire, England in 1840, where she was baptized on 2 August 1840. Their children were: Ann, said to have been born at Sylvester farm, Whitley near Ecclesfield, Yorkshire in 1863 and married Edward John WILSON; Emma b. about 1866 and married Joe TAYLOR; Frederick b. about 1868 married ?? and they had 2 children: Owen and a daughter; Clara b. about 1870, married John HOLME and they had 4 known children: Harry, Gladys and two other sons; and Willis b. about 1876 and not known if he married. All were believed born at Ecclesfield, Yorkshire, probably on the farm. New info (2002) mentions two more children: George b. 1861 and William b. 1863.
Ann and Edward J WILSON were
married in February 1885 at Sheffield parish church, Yorkshire. Shortly
after, they emigrated to Australia, where the 4 older boys were born.
After being flooded out a number of times, Edward, Ann and their two surviving
sons (James and Frank) moved across to New Zealand. They had six
known children:
James, Albert,
Frederick,
Frank,
Harold
and Ina Madeline.
