For
2004-2005 the IBPFT's goal is to create a larger voice and increase diversity
awareness within the TESOL profession. Everyone has something to offer
and the IBPFT is working to create as many opportunities and forums for
the concerns of professionals of color. You can be part of it by doing
one or more of the following;
1. Join the IBPFT
Caucus at any time of year. Don't wait until you renew your TESOL membership,
JOIN NOW! Send an email message to members@tesol.org
2. Write an article for the IBPFT Newsletter (an Official TESOL publication),
and share the newsletter with colleagues.
3. Recruit a colleague to be a caucus member, we must maintain a minimum
membership of 100.
4. Volunteer to be a Caucus leader and be active in TESOL (see back page
for positions available).
5. Participate in List Serve discussions (must be a caucus member).
6. Submit a proposal to present at a TESOL Conference.
7. Attend the Caucus Colloquium and Open meeting at the annual conference.
8. Tell others about our new Web site: www.oocities.org/ibpft_tesol
9. Educate your colleagues on issues relevant to Black Professionals and
other teachers of color in TESOL.
10. Contact the current Chair to ask how you can get involved!
VOLUNTEER
TO BE LEADER IN TESOL!
You can be a leader in TESOL by volunteering to be a leader in the IBPFT
Caucus. As a leader in TESOL there are a great number of opportunities
to develop professionally, through educational leadership programs offered
by TESOL, collaboration with colleagues around the world, writing or editing
for TESOL publications, and networking with TESOL professionals with similar
areas of interest and concerns.
This year the IBPFT
will be seeking a new Chair elect, newsletter editor, and secretary.
