The Brandon Ice Sports Forum will be holding two synchro skating classes this spring to introduce new skaters to synchronized team skating. While not mandatory for potential team members, the classes offer a wonderful opportunity for interested skaters to see what team skating is all about. All current members of Team Ice Connection are required to participate in the classes.
Class one will be held on Fridays at 6:45 PM.
Class two is Ice Dance for Synchronized Skaters and will be held on Saturdays at 9:15 AM.
Skaters will practice skating as a team in the various synchro formations making transitions and working on unison. Skaters will also practice dance moves and footwork that can be integrated into synchronized team programs.
Both classes are 45 minutes in duration. Classes will run from May 1 to June 24. Cost of the classes is $90 for one class and $45.50 to add the additional class. For more information, call Pam Barnhill at 813-681-9015 or email at three_turn@msn.com.
Tryouts for the 2001-2002 season will be held July 8 at 6:15 AM. Cost for tryouts is $10. Tryouts are low stress. Skaters should be able to complete forward and backward crossovers in both directions, mohawks, three turns, a forward lunge and a forward spiral. Preteen, teen and adult skaters are welcome.
