Below is the list of programs planned for the event.

 Non-Dance Programs:

1. Introduction

The event will begin with a welcome program which is a collage of group song, movie clippings on India's freedom struggle and pattern formations. This program requires a lot of participants, as many as 30 to 40 individuals. This program does not involve any dancing and does not require many practice sessions. We will meet just 3 or 4 times before the rehearsal date. No restrictions to wear a particular costume.

2. Kids Fancy Dress

Theme for the fancy dress program is 'Indian National Leaders'. Current plan is to have one or two kids perform on stage between each program. Depending on their age, kids are welcome to say a few words about the leader. Event MCs will then take that lead and provide more information about the leader and introduce the next program. We have provided a list of leaders (see below) to avoid repetitions. If you have any other leaders that you would prefer your kid to do, please let us know.

List of leaders: Sarojini Naidu, Jhansi Rani, Rani Channama, Bhagat Singh, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Rabindranath Tagore, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, V.O. Chidambaram Pillai, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Subramaniya Bharathiyar, Gandhiji, Jawaharlal Nehru, Moulanaa Abul Kalam Azad, Rajagopala Charya, Dadabhai Nauroji, Mangal Pandey, Lala Lajpat Rai, Surendra Nath Banerjee

3. Rangoli

We are planning to have a Rangoli event in the school cafetaria on the morning of Aug 14th (event day). The cafeteria will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We kindly request interested individuals to come and participate in this event during this time. We will provide you the necessary items like rangoli powder, chalk piece etc. In the evening, the Rangoli designs will be open for public viewing (entrance to the auditorium will be through the cafetaria). This is also a good opportunity to teach your kids how to draw Rangoli.

4. Kids Song

Dance Based Programs:

1. Classical Dance
