Update June 4, 2002:  I'm out of this blistering Phoenix 105º F heat and on to a cool paradise!  See you back on June 11th.

Update May 23, 2002: Field and Stream Magazine reports "Newfoundland's Record Runs" for salmon. Although I probably won't be fishing this trip, it'll be interesting to just observe this activity on this "pristine island".

Update May 20, 2002:  Considering the tight schedule of only being in NF for 5 full days, I've decided to spend a little more time on the SW coast near Port aux Basques.  I hope to see the Rose Blanche area then up the coast to Cheeseman Provincial Park and Cape Ray then on to some other small communities along the southern shore.

Update May 17, 2002:  Less than three weeks and counting now!  Good thing considering today is forecasted to be another day of our long stretch of days near or over 100º F here in Phoenix.  It appears that the weather is getting a little better in western Newfoundland.  I guess in June I should hope for daytime temperatures in the mid-50º F, which is fine with me.

Update April 19, 2002: Well just about 6 weeks away until I get to visit Newfoundland. The trip excitement hasn't reached any notable levels but I suspect things will start churning once I start firming up all the detailed plans. I haven't received too much feedback from this site or others on any helpful planning tips like what to see and do or what not to see or do. I'm still open to any suggestions. One thing I do look forward to is the weather considering we've already reach 100º F last week in Phoenix!

Trip Planning Update March 13, 2002:  We've already experienced the first dilemma.  Air Canada has made some major scheduling changes on the second leg of the trip from Toronto-Halifax-Stephenville and the return flight.  As a result, there will now be a night lay over in Toronto coming and going.  To make the best of this and considering I've never been in Toronto any suggestions for dining and sightseeing would be welcomed.  Maybe I'll be able to stay over in Halifax on the return in lieu of Toronto but I won't know if I can do that until the last minute at check in.
