Born and brought up in a township wrapped in greenery
and drenched by river, I am a child in the lap of the
nature. I grew up in the middle of gardens and talking
with trees, birds and flowers. The best friend of mine
in my childhood days, was a palm tree nearby.
But the childhood ended, though it took a
long time really, and I came to Kolkata for
higher studies. Fish out of the water, I was
confused about where the puzzling network
of busy roads would lead me to and I got
lost several times. But I learned soon my
way. This was, in my short span of life, the
most interesting period. Not only really good
friends and great fun were there in store for me,
living as paying guest at different places put me
in close contact with people of variety and
through memorable experiences giving me
insight into the way of life. I grew up.
But,
wait. I still have not discovered the true diversity
of India! Coming out of the shell is still not complete.
That will be, when I shall go to Pune in 2002 for one
and a half month and come in close terms with around
50 students all over India. After that I shall come to
realize how great my country is! Able to judge myself
against a broader canvas, now I shall be confident.
Finally,
now I am in IIT Bombay. Life
is interesting here with panthers,
snakes and crocodiles around. Back into
trees, I like the campus, my favourite
hangout being the lakeside.
Is
that the end? Well, not quite. Only I do
not know what is coming next. From this part
