Mengo S. S was among the 1^st schools to get computers and it has a well facilitated Computer Lab with more than 30 Computers. It has now included computer on the syllabus for all students in O-Level, which has enabled every student to have prior knowledge on the computer.

The subjects done at A-Level include Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Economics, History, Geography, Technical Drawing (T.D) Literature and Divinity. Other subjects done at O-Level are English language CRE, Germany, Luganda, Office Practice, Typing, Woodwork, Metalwork and Power and Energy, which makes Mengo. S.S a practical oriented school. It therefore enables a student to be acquainted with knowledge and skills  which help them, even if they don't join HSC, they can still join a tertially institution that can help them practically, and this can help them be job creators rather than job seekers.
