Tomoko Yanagi-Kenny

Tomoko Yanagi-Kenny holds professor status with the Ikenobo school of Ikebana. Experienced with Ikebana since her childhood, she formally started learning the Ikenobo style of Ikebana in 1988 in Japan. Her first public Ikebana demonstration was in California in 1989. Since then she's studied with various professors and also participated in an intensive course in the Ikenobo Central Training Academy in Kyoto, Japan. In 1997 she received the professional name of "Yanagi Senpo ".

After she moved to the UK in 1998, she exhibited her Ikebana works at various places including exhibition or displays at the Japan Embassy, Hammersmith and Fulham Flower show andEaling Central Library and demonstrations at the YWCA Central Club Hays Ladies Leisure Club. She was awarded a bronze medal at the Royal Horticultural Society Flower Show in 2001. She has been educated and lived in Japan, US and UK.

Traditionally this certificate is a wood plate. Again my professorship name, Yanagi Senpo is written on the plate.

Chuden (Intermediate)Certificate

The certificate was issued in Heisei 1, the first year in the reign of the Emperor Heisei, according to the Japanese calendar. In western terms this is 1989 (AD)! This was just after I started Ikebana in 1988.

My name was Yanagi Tomoko , Tomoko is my first name and Yanagi my maiden surname.
