- 25mar-clinton arrives to a lacklustre welcome in Pakistan and leaves after talks with musharraf and a recorded speech on PTV. This is the fourth presidential visit to Pakistan all of which have been during periods of military rule

May13-Breaking News-In what seems to be an end play stage managed and delivered as per orders of the military the Supreme Court "which one child called a fraud"(ACTUALLY A MILITARY RUBBERSTAMP) approved the coup of October 12 as inevitable and allowed musharaf to complete his personal agenda over a duration of three years ie upto October, 12 2002 plus ninety days. The Supreme Court wrongly saying that there was no other way out also allowed musharraf to legislate. Some people joked that when the SC chief justice informed musharraf of his decision that he should immediately hold clean elections by not allowing all previously elected people to participate and hand over power to the cleanly elected he whipped out his pistol and said he would either commit suicide or kill the chief justice. The chief justice than immediately signed a copy of the judgement handed to him by an army officer.Obviously there were many more acceptable ways out but the military keen to snuff out any challenges toits rule preferred unfettered total control. In doing so the chief justice inadvertently also gave musharraf a one year extension in service ie if the corp commanders dont boot him out sooner.So Pakistan is effectively under military rule upto January 2003 since the PMLn or the PPP is unable to mount any movement to remove the military dictators

- 02MAR--The musharraf govt has announced a tax amnesty on payment of 10% on all hidden assets. This has been a usual ploy of marshal law govts and is known as the mahbubul haq black money whitening arrangement. The armed forces are known to have clandestine links with smugglers and black money launderers and are thus serving their constituency
- In power politicians become dictators and when out of power champions of judiciary and democracy says the Supreme Court Chief Justice. Irshad is giving signs of bringing in his own system of govt in the guise of saving aspects of democratic rule. The last such judicial attempt in the shape of the doctrine of necessity gave the military six months to hold elections which eventually lasted eleven years. One would suggest to the judiciary to rule according to law rather than thought process and what is good, bad or ugly
- nawaz sharif has reposed full confidence in the ATC judge and will ask his lawyers to respect that attitude
- The district govt system being trumpeted by the military rulers is supposed to create govts in 34, 21, 24, 26 districts of the four provinces apart from FATA, capital territories and northern areas. There are possibilities of realignments and delimitations as the number of districts in all provinces are similar
- Gold use in Pakistan rose 24% to 121.8 tonnes
- 03mar-According to a News report privatization of PPL will increase consumer gas prices by around 52%. So to offset that the musharraf govt is expected to start increasing gas prices
- 05MAR-Shiv sena activists of the Indian govt attacked the delhi bound Lahore bus in eastern Punjab breaking windows with stones injuring passengers and burning the effigy of musharraf and the Pakistani flag
- Wheat prices may go up by upto 25% say experts if the govt ends the subsidy on wheat. The govts economic policies which are totally subject to IMF subjugation seem pathetic to the ordinary Pakistani in their lack of direction and purpose
- 06mar-Clinton finally decides to make a brief stopover in Pakistani during his trip to the area
- 07mar-a bus traveling from balochistan to larkana fell into the saifullah magsi canal near garhi kheru and killed 52 and injuring 30
- 08mar-The musharraf appointed CJ is giving very strange comments one of which is that the CE has the right to legislate.According to the law no individual from a subordinate organization of the Pakistani govt can either usurp or seize power or legislate without the approval of an elected electorate. If such is the case than there is no need for a judiciary as nobody has to follow the constitution. Tommorrow even a lance naik can overthrow musharraf and seize power since physical power is in the hands of the fauji and not the general who refuses to obey orders of an elected govt
- 10mar--The first Pakistani assembled 3000horsepower railway engine was rolled out built with components from US and Japanese companies

- Mar11-Nawaz sharifs counsel iqbal raad and and two assistants were killed in their office by three unknown killers. People generally assume that it has something todo with attempts to stop the Clinton visit or intra party rivalries amongst the muslim league or Indian orchestrated terrorism
- Mar15-Two more federal ministers were inducted. Lt Gen ® IftiKhar Hussein Shah becomes minister of communication and chemistry expert prfessor Ata Urrehman becomes minister of science and technology
- mar16-The govt has prohibited political meetings countrywide in what is being seen by some as a reaction to crowds at kulsoom nawaz meetings in hyderabad and some pro Indian utterances in her speeches for which a treason case has been filed against her
- mar15--The utterances of the CJ are all over the judicial spectrum.The latest being that the acts of a usurper cannot be legitimized and that the judges powers are above the PCO initiated by the CE
- Mar16-The top five tax paying companies are NBP, MCB,Citi Bank, Fauji Fertiliser and OGDC which paid Rs. 13.097 billion in taxes . The top individual taxpayer was Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor who paid Rs 35.143 million in taxes
- Mar17-The judge hearing the case of the child serial killer Javed Iqbal has sentenced him to death 100 times and he is to be hanged in front of the parents of his victims. The interior minister however says that such a sentence is not allowed and that a death sentence can only be carried out with dignity and with a proper process

- Feb16-The musharraf govt according to press reports has decided to continue with the nawaz appointed Tarrar as its president as the military appointment committee has failed to agree on a replacement
- Feb17-Furnace oil prices have been raised by 15% in anticipation of a raise in petrol prices. Furnace oil is usually used by electricity producers
- NADRA has been created by merging the National database organisation and the directorate of registration
- Feb18--The ministry of petroleum has announced revised management boards for eight state owned gas and oil companies by bringing in supposed outside expertise most of whom apparently seem to have no experience in these fields...For example retd lt gen safdar butt becomes the chairman of SNGPL. However his experience is of army civil engineering, road building and wapda where he helped engineer pakistans electricity production shortfall.Recently according to reports he was acting as an advisor to nawaz sharif on politics?? Similarly pakistans most famous condom salesman Zafar Iqbal becomes the head of the National Refinery Limited.Abdullah Yusuf who has been accused of mismanagement and corruption in the Utility Stores becomes the head of Pak Arab Refinery Limited where he reportedly is already involved in ghuplas
- A report has appeared in the press involving the Pakistan ambassador to Britain in financial irregularities and ghuplas in the making of a controversial film on mohd ali jinnah
- Feb19-India expels three Pakistan embassy staffers
- Feb20-34 JSQM and MQM workers were arrested while attempting to hold a protest demo in Karachi
- Feb21-In retaliation to the expulsion of Pakistan embassy staffers earlier Pakistan expelled three Indian diplomats
- Feb22-In a move that could be the beginning of a subjugated mqm a strike call to protest retrenchement in the Steel Mills was withdrawn after 150 workers were arrested by police
- feb24-Due to an excess of Lt generals one namely ghulam ahmed formerly the deputy director of the ISI has been appointed the Chief of Staff to general pervez musharraf. Musharraf has embarked on a militiarisation of all important slots in the country and daily one hears of a major general or brigadier being appointed to this and that position
- Feb25-The govt has allowed bank to bank transfers of FCA accounts but has not yet reached a decision to unfreeze them
