Our objective is to preserve, develop and promote the Anatolian Shepherd Dog in all its colours, coats and types.

WELCOME

We chanced upon this breed by accident and have found them to be remarkable working dogs and loyal and loving companions. We currently own two dogs, a 20 month old male (COSMO) and a 6 year old female(SEKER). Both dogs have temperaments that other dog breed owners dream of. We have owned various breeds of dog over the years but have never encountered any thing like the Anatolian Shepherd dog.

This dog was bred to guard, and protect Livestock. They have developed behavior and thought patterns that require minimal human intervention  in their daily working routine once they have bonded with their charges.

To approach the training of these dogs using conventional methods only leads to frustration.
To say they have a mind of their own when it comes to obedience is to show our ignorance of what this dog is really about. You will learn more of the dog before it decides to learn any thing from you. In the 20 months with Cosmo we have learnt heaps and he is graciously showing signs of conforming to our wishes.

We often find ourselves asking the question : "who's in charge here?". The reality is that we know the answer and we have no intention of letting him in on it!!!
