Connecting Through Music Ministries![]() "PRAISE YE THE LORD! SING UNTO THE LORD A NEW SONG, AND HIS PRAISE IN THE CONGREGATION OF SAINTS. LET ISRAEL PRAISE HIS NAME IN THE DANCE; LET THEM SING PRAISES UNTO HIM WITH THE TIMBREL AND HARP" Psalm 149 At Immanuel Lutheran Church, we take seriously God's invitation to praise Him with His gift of music. Our worship services are filled with music from Gregorian chant to contemporary choruses. We strive for musical excellence, believing that the worship of God deserves our best effort. To that end, both professional and volunteer musicians participate in music at Immanuel. Vocal, handbell, and instrumental ensembles are available for adults and children. New members are welcome to join at any time. For more information about the music ministry at Immanuel, keep reading or contact our Director of Music, Marilyn Ossentjuk at 616-454-3655. * Sanctuary Choir: This choir for adults sings regularly at the 10:45 worship service from September through May. Rehearsals are on Thursday nights at 7:30 PM. High Schools students are welcome. * Immanuel Ringers: For adult handbell ringers. Rings once a month in worship. Rehearsals on Wednesdays 5:30-6:30 PM. High school students also welcome. Prior handbell ringing experience is helpful but not necessary. Fundamentals of ringing are taught in rehearsals. * Youth handbells: A handbell training choir for children grades 3-8. Rings occasionally in worship. Rehearses Sundays from 12 noon to 12:30. * Children's Music Ministry: Immanuel places a high value on music for children, firmly believing that children have a important role to play in worship now and that we are training future leaders of worship. * Instrumental Groups: Assembled on an as needed basis for special worship services. If you play a string, wind or percussion instrument and would like to participate, please contact Marilyn Ossentjuk, Music Director. For more information about any of our choirs, please contact the Music Director or call the church office at 454-3655.
