Well folks, this page is still under construction largely due to the fact that I can't remeber all the places we've played. We should've kept better records of our shows because I can't remember sh*t! Here's a attempt at getting the timeline and locations right... As you can see, the band took an almost one year hiatus from playing any shows for most of 2001. Our lead guitarist was busy graduating from college so we'll let it slide this time. Also, there are a few basement shows and assorted acoustic events that I'm not even going to try to remember...so this list is far from complete. Photos will be provided as soon as I can get them scammed...I mean scanned. |
PAST SHOWS |
1999 January: Aids Benefit Concert: This show was our first officical show as a new band. High Point High School, of which we are all alumni, hosted this event for raising funds to help fight the battle against AIDS. We had a manager and just finished recording 4 new original songs on a CD. (Thanks Bruce! PHASE Studios in College Park, MD)The show was awesome and we kicked ass! We were on second to last and we had so much fun. Sure we screwed up a few times but the audience loved us. There was nothing like hearing the crowd scream after a song! We knew after that night that we had the potential of kicking some serious ass!!...Little did we know, Jake was in the crowd that night. 1999 August: Hillandale Rec Center: This show was thrown together by us near the end of summer for all of the folks that would miss out on any shows while away at college. Team Discovery opened and a good crowd of about 90 people were there having fun with us. 1999 October: Univeristy of MD Battle of the Bands: Staged at the Nymburu Amphitheatre on campus by Stamp Union at UMCP. We were one of about half a dozen acts there. Again we had tons of fun! Too bad we lost to a hip-hop group, but what did you expect when everyone's from Jersey. After the show, a few of the ladies from the audience greeted us affectionately... that was nice! 1999 December: The Vault: Honestly, I can't remember sh*t from this show. It was cold and it was night time...that's all I remember. We loved the stage, it was really high up and we felt like we were playing at a much larger club. 1999 December 31: The Grog and Tankard: This show was weird!! We were almost there by ourselves.(Thanks for coming Hector!) If you can imagine Moe's Tavern from the Simpsons on new year's eve, then you've got the picture. About a dozen guys at the bar passed out or about to pass out asking us to play Nirvana songs. Hey, we didn't mind it one bit. We rocked out just as much as we would have if the place had been stacked with people. It was a very memorable experience. I guess the people who would have gone decided that the Y2K bug was a bit too scary to handle. 2000 January: The Brass Monkey: We actually played here twice but again, I don't remeber what even happened the first time we played. Oh wait I remeber now...the first time was a last minute gig. We found out about the gig a day before it happened but still managed to play. We followed an act called Kung Fu who had a guy that was Will Farrell's identical twin. Oh man, good times...The second time around, we managed to pack the entire club with our fans and we felt kinda bad after we left because the club was nearly empty. It was cold and dark, but we were ready to rock. It was great!! 2000 August: Open Stage at the Lake Front Columbia, MD: This was a fun, relaxed, and really mellow show. The crowd was a bit older and the night was getting chilly so we dicided to play a cover of a cover that was made popular by the No Boundaries CD. Only given 10 minutes, we opened with Last Kiss and then had to quickly close up with an original, Places Unreal. The crowd was really receptive to our songs. 2001 May: Backyard Birthday party: (AKA the Danger Kitty show) This show was the first one that we played with our newest band member, Jake. He actually got us the gig through a friend at his schoool. We felt washed up because we hadn't played a gig in ages. Well a nice tamed backyard deck party was good to get us back in the swing of things...and help break in the new guy. You might be wondering why it's nicknamed the Danger Kitty show. When we were there, it just really felt like that Discover Card commerical that starred Danger Kitty playing at that barmitzvah. It was still fun! 2001 December 22nd: Hillandale Rec Center: For those of you who went, I don't have to say anything. But for those of you who coudln't catch us that night, here's a cheap attempt at trying to recall how it all went. It kicked ass!!Jimmy Merit opened the show with a knee slapping barrel of laughs. Then New Universe put on an awesome performance opening with their version of Duran Duran's Spin Me Right Round. The lights went out and the ladies went right up in our faces when we went on. That's the kind of show I'm talking about! We played for an hour and a half stright without any breaks, just time for chatting with the audience. We threw in songs that we swore we'd never play again but somehow they were requested. Over 100 Free iLFit CDs and about a dozen T-shirts and a handful of stickers were given out thoughout the night. Sorry we ran out folks but we should have more at our next show. Thanks again for all the people that showed up making this show a success! If anyone missed it, we hope to see you guys at our next show...I'll try to get photos from this show as soon as I can find any. 2002 April 6th: Hillandale Rec Center: |
