With Mike in the band, there was a sense or renewal. A renaissance in style, attitude and hope. Since they were a completely different and totally new band, the old name couldn't stick around rendering them nameless. Then it hit them, the name "iLFit" came to mind and it stuck with them. During a conversation between Rithy and Edgar, they talked about the image of the band. They realized that their image went against the grain of conventional image of an alternative/rock band. Being of different races and having such an eclectic background in music individually, the guys knew that they were definitely ilFit. After establishing a few songs, they hit the studio to record what they had. Their first CD was released in February of 1999. Later that year in July, another four songs were released. As time went on, gigs were played, songs were written and it was a match made in heaven. It was great and for a time, it seemed like nothing would stop them. They all had fun doing what they did. But as fate would have it, their lives slowly drifted and the band suffered. They all had their own lives to catch up with and reponsibilities to attend to. The band was in shambles practicing and gigging only a few times all year. They needed help getting the fire back in them. Fast forward to February 2001, and Jake, 4th and newest member of the band was added. He adds a new twist to the sound of iLFit while still being able to maintain their sound. He brings a studio sound to iLFit in LIVE performances. With the addition of new sounds to the band, their music is continuously changing to accomodate all of their tastes with music. Their sound now is extremely dynamic ranging from relatively slow ballads to hardcore rock with a unifying theme of high energy and fun. If your taste in music varies as much as their style does, then you've gotta own an iLFit album. |
