Illusions of a Moonie takes place in the real world, our world. If you smack yourself in the head (go on do it. I dare ya!) it hurts. Sailor Moon is just a cartoon, the moon kingdom never existed and the Silver Millenium never happened (at least I have never read about it in any history book). But even in reality weird things can happen. Just look at Michael Jackson!
Anyway.....
Earth was the first mother, and her name was Gaea. She, with the help of her brother, Uranus, created the heavens and the earth. Then, Uranus created the titans, a race of beautiful yet troublesome gods.
Uranus was cruel, ill-tempered and abusive. The Titans were much like Uranus. Although Gaea was the supreme leader Uranus often tried to over rule her authority. The Titans usually took Uranus side, as he was their creator. To combat her lack of control Gaea created the Olympians to help her protect Earth from Uranus' extreme means. She knew that if he became ruler the world would be plunged into darkness. This was the beginning of fiercesome war know as the Titanomachy.
Uranus was so power hungry that he would have killed Gaea at the first chance he got. Gaea on the other hand couldn't bring herself to kill her own brother, despite his evil personality. She knew Uranus would never give up his quest for power. So finally after a hundred years of fighting Gaea, along with the Olympians, managed to imprison Uranus and the Titans far beneath the earth.
After a hundred years of fighting Gaea and Olympians were exhausted. Their physical bodies died while their spirits fell into a deep slumber. Instead of falling asleep, Hermes' (the messanger god) spirit was transformed into a cat so he could stay awake and watch over the earth. 
At any sign of trouble from the Titans he would reawaken the spirits of the Olympians into bodies of mortals so they could protect the earth. Before Gaea died she recorded the events of the battle in a book titled "A History of the Deities" so Hermes give it to the mortals who would take the place of the Olympians.
In the year 2001 the time has finally come for Hermes to reawaken the Olympians. While the Olympians spirits slept the Titans remained awake, biding their time until the could escape their imprisonment and take over the earth. Uranus is as persistant as ever that he will be ruler. But after thousands of years of imprisonment Uranus and the Titans are weak. They need the energy of humans so they can grow strong. Uranus is content to sit back and watch for the Titans to bring the energy to him. That is where the Divine Senshi come in. They are the mortals in which the spirits of the Olympians will awaken, and they are all girls (go figure ^_~)! In them rests the powers of the gods. It is the destiny to protect the earth from Uranus and the Titans before they gather enough energy to conquer it.
