Click here for a detailed account of how Lucy and Ricky met, from Ricky's point of view.

Ricky went to Havana University.

Ricky's eyes are brown.

Ricky is a Gemini

Ricky was born in Havana, Cuba.

Ricky grew up on a tobacco plantation.

Ricky (and Desi) were in the Broadway play "Too Many Girls".

When Ricky's excited or mad, he yells in Spanish.

Ricky's mom was a singer and a dancer.

His father told him not to gamble when they once went to a casino, but he did.

Here are the lyrics to some of Desi/Ricky's songs: Babalu, Cuban Pete, The Straw Hat Song, See You in C-U-B-A, El Cumbanchero, and Granada.

Ricky has five brothers (it's not known if these are mentioned in "The Ricardos Go to Cuba", but they are in "Be a Pal".)

Ricky gave Lucy $500 to spend on new furniture; she spent exactly $3292.62.

Ricky presented Jonny Longden with a trophy for 4,961 wins from the National Turf Association.

Ricky was in the Broadway play "Too Many Girls", as was Desi Arnaz.

He worked at the Tropicana Club for many years before buying it and renaming it Club Babalu.

Ricky once cooked Spanish food for 800 people at a bazaar at Little Ricky's school.

Ricky played a hollow tree in the school play, The Enchanted Forest.

Ricky originally was going to Hollywood to star in a movie about Don Juan, but it was shelved, and we don't know the name of the movie he eventually made. Lucy, Ethel, Fred, Lucy's mother, and Little Ricky all went with him to Hollywood.

He likes the temperature warmer when he sleeps at night, and prefers the window closed. So did Desi Arnaz.

"The gang" drove a 1956 blue Pontiac convertible to California.

Arroz con Pollo (chicken with rice) was Ricky (and Desi)'s favorite dish.

Ricky's Uncle Alberto wanted him to marry a Cuban girl.

Ricky's full name was Enricky Alberto Ricardo y de Acha III.

Ricky is part of a big family - but not as big as mine. :-) The members of his family that are known are: Uncle Alberto (the head of the family), Uncle Pedro, Aunt Rosa, Uncle Rafael, Aunt Sylvia, Aunt Maria Pepa, Uncle Jorge, Josefina, Pepe, Nadine, Manuel, Amberta, Guillermito Merandez, Eduardo, Enrique, and Ricky's parents.

Ricky lost a total of $3,192.08 living with Lucy for the six years we saw of their lives. Thanks to Kayla's I Love Lucy Page for this information! If you want to see the different things that both won and lost Ricky money, check out Ricky's Pocketbook.

NITALERT
In quite a few episodes, Lucy, Ethel or Fred make reference to Ricky's not knowing English before he came to the U.S. However, in the Lucy-Desi Comedy Hourepisode "Lucy Takes a Cruise to Havana", he can speak it.

It's shown in the "Lucy Takes a Cruise to Havana" episode that Ricky got to the U.S. by boat with Lucy, but in "Lucy Writes a Novel" he states that he got there by plane.

In the Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour episode "Lucy Goes to Sun Valley", Lucy tells Ethel that Ricky and her song is Jingle Bells because that was the only one Ricky knew in English, but in the episode "Lucy Takes a Cruise to Havana" he sings "That Means I Love You" in English.

Neat Info
This is a new section coming to each character's page. It will tell neat information about each character and how they are the same or different from their real-life counterparts. Some New Info will be added in bold after a character info, and some after this section.

Ricky's references to Xavier Cugat are almost complimenting because of Cugat's treatment of Desi when he was in his band.
