Ma Cherie

I come from many miles, from many spirits,
I come along to tell you just these words:
In you life's lie is just too quiet to hear it,
Contained inside of you is all the world.

Luxuriating in your arms I find the moment
Still fleeting, but yet going gently still;
Luxuriating in your soul I find the torment
Of all the beauty coursing through your will.

I find inside you passions, recollections,
Pain, love and talent, tender loving soul,
I find inside you infinite connections
Between each part of life and life in whole,

It's only mind, it's only soul, it's only body,
It's only inspiration of them all,
It is the patterns we chose to embody
That make us us - it is what we extol

That gives us striving and the resolution;
That gives us shape and essence and belief.
I would be rather bled to destitution
Than lose this sense - and yet I'd know if

There is a torrent somewhere in the soul,
Or truth impaled on endpoint of a knife;
I'd know if passion burns without control,
I'd know if there is danger, there is strife,

I'd know, I'd know.. for there is nothing truer
Than what you are; and ones too blind to see
Your soul will not be able to endure
The delicacy of you, ma cherie.
