Daydreams of the Second Chance We Never Had
Inspired by the same boy who inspired all of my writing in 2008, Daydreams is a story of a college student who hasn't been the same since she was rejected by a boy in high school. Now, three years later, she's given a second chance with this boy. Now she must decide what is more important: her dignity or a chance at love that she never had.
Footprints
Based on a true story, an aunt and her niece fall apart over the years. One takes the path of least resistance. The other channels her emotions through writing. This is the story of their close relationship as young children and how the years change people.
Golden Age
Told from the perspective of one guy and one girl from the senior class, the last months of high school are documented. People decide where to go to college, what to do with their lives, and whether or not to tell the ones they love about their feelings.
Intertwine
When a girl who's life she has admired for years ends up murdered, Amber May goes through a breakdown. Her obsession with the dead girl and her boyfriend come to a head as she is interrogated for the murder.
Knock Softly
After her best friend dies in a car accident, a college freshman grows extremely close to her new roommate, an openly lesbian eccentric.
Mitch Markham
A hedonistic, thirty-year-old man with a penchant for bedding young girls is given a last chance at his job with a transfer. Although he keeps relations between him and the beautiful underage girl who he works with to the legal level, he is forced to reevaluate his way of life when, as a result of his carelessness, she is raped on his watch.
Two Takes on the Tragedy of Alice Baker
Alice Baker has a perfect life: she's at the top of her class, has the best friends she could want, she's beautiful, and she's rich. It's for these reasons that Liz Whitlow despises her. Liz, in an attempt to ruin Alice's perfect image, begins to slowly forge a destructive friendship with the girl. This eventually leads to her downfall. This story is told from two points of view: Alice's and Liz's.
Untitled 1
Robin Henley meets Kyle, an older, attractive boy with some skeletons in his closet, at her job. They begin dating quickly and the relationship escalates quickly to a level that neither have experienced.
Untitled 2
A teenage girl babysits two neighbor girls for a year after school. Several years later, one of the girls starts following the path to teenage destruction as her ex-babysitter watches from a distance.
The Vicious Circle
For years, the Connelly family has been subject to physical and sexual abuse. Belle and Harry were beaten and molested by their father for the majority of their childhood. Their sister, Lena, watched from the dark corners of the house. The three expressed their pain in different ways. Belle, feeling inadequate, married her first boyfriend right out of high school. She was pregnant at twenty and, upon discovering her pregnancy, her husband left her. Travis Connelly was born with no father. Desperate for a husband, Belle marries Gerald Fisher, who is ten years her junior. The beatings begin right after the birth of their daughter, Tatum. When Tatum is three, the molestation begins. Belle does not know how to stop it. Meanwhile, Belle’s brother Harry develops an alcohol problem and a taste for one night stands. When he realizes what is happening with Fisher, though, he offers his home to Belle’s kids every weekend – his attempt at giving them a normal male figure in their lives. Lena, the youngest Connelly child, flees from Elberfeld. She leaves no number or address for her siblings to contact her. Harry expresses his resentment for Lena and, when she returns, refuses to communicate with her. Meanwhile, Travis is determined to accomplish three things: win over the heart of Liza Wenders, get his stepfather arrested, and move in with his Uncle Harry, whom he looks up to more than anyone.
