      If the Province of Cavite is the most progressive in the CALABARZON area of the Southern Tagalog region, Imus is the most progressive town in the province of Cavite. Imus is the capital of the province of Cavite. It is located 18km. from Manila. It is bounded on the north by Kawit, on the east by Bacoor, on the west by General trias and on the South by Dasmariņas. Imus plays a very important part in the history of our country. Numerous battles were fought and won in this town during Spanish regime and it was in Alapan Imus were the flag of the Republic of the Philippines was first raised. Among the famous Filipinos who were born in Imus are: Former Prime Minister Cesar Virata, Senator Ramon Revilla, Senator Ping Lacson, Former Finance Secretary Edgardo Espiritu, Former Cavite Goc. Johnny Remulla, Former Cavite Gov. Bong Revilla, Cavite Gov. Ayong Maliksi, Cavite Congressman Gilbert Remulla and Cavite Bishop Chito Tagle.

      Imus Computer College (ICC), the first computer school chain that originated from Cavite, marked recently its 15th foundation anniversary with the theme, 'ICC at 15: Helping People Maximize Their Potential.' Imus School Tops Microsoft Skills Tilt. Manila Bulletin (Feb. 15, 2003)

      The Imus Computer College (ICC), one of the pioneer computer schools in Cavite, topped the first "Microsoft Office Olympics" competition participated in by schools in Southern Tagalog provinces. The contest was held recently at various authorized Microsoft testing centers in the region. Microsoft Philippines, in cooperation with Innovative Works which is the official distributor of Microsoft Office Specialist Exams in the country, conducted the contest.

Imus School Tops Cavite Computer Skills Contest. Manila Bulletin (Nov. 6, 2002)

      The Imus Computer College (ICC), one of the pioneer computer schools in Cavite, topped the 2002 Cavite information technology (IT) skills competition held on October 22-24, 2002 at the Cavite Provincial Gym, Trece Martirez City. The Cavite office of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) conducted the contest. ICC president and founder Manny P. del Prado, said the ICC victory shows that a Cavite-based technical school school can compete and emerged victorious in information technology courses over Manila and foreign based computer schools now located in Cavite. "It is not only a victory for us, but a victory for all Cavite educators," he said.

     Besting seven other schools from all over Cavite that qualified for the competition, ICC earned 542 points from a maximum of 600 points, emerging victorious over NCST Dasmariņas which placed second and PSTC Bacoor which placed third. ICC computer programming student Raul C. Cortez Jr. won the gold medal int he youth category (15-17 years) category while ICC applied computer engineering student Julie Ramos won the gold medal in the open category (18 years and above). ICC faculty members Jun MIņa and Christhian de Dios served as the team's coaches.

     Cavite has more than 25 collegiate schools ofering information technology. The information technology contest seeks to test the participating schools' grasp of computer concepts, object-oriented programming, word-processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, database management, hardware installation and networking. ICC will represent Cavite in the TESDA Region 4 IT skills competition to be held next year.
