IMZADI'S RETIRED CATS PLACED
These lovely Somalis have already been placed in wonderful retirement homes and enjoying their lives as pampered pets.
GRP Imzadi's Casanova
Grand Premier Imzadi's Casanova was a two show grand. He was Best Somali Alter in the North Atlantic Region and The Somali Cat Club of America's Fifth Best Ruddy Alter for the show season 1996-1997. Currently retired, Casanova now lives a life of leisure.
Imzadi's Iman
The other kitty open for adoption is Iman, Justy (below) is her sire and Fiya (pictured first in the cattery) is her dam. She is a pretty, petite Ruddy 2 years old who was spayed 3 weeks ago (September 1997). She had her teeth cleaned at that time and her gums are good. Iman is gentle and quiet. She is timid and is especially afraid of people she doesn't know. She will stand on my lap and knead my legs. She likes to sleep on the bed.
She can be easily intimidated by other cats. I feel she will do better in an environment with only a few other cats. She is likely to come more out of her shell as she becomes used to the easy life of a spay. I don't think she will ever go greet strangers, but she is a shy yet sweet kitty. She needs a home too.
Tajhara's Just A Gigolo of Imzadi
2002 Update on Justy by Carol Marano
Justy , aka The Emperor Justinian, or L'imperatore Giustinio, as he is known in Tuscany, lives in a villa twelve miles from Siena in Italy with his mother Carol and his two sisters, Minnie Mouse and Maxine. They are very happy to have Justy, since he is the resident expert on Italian cat food. Once he gives the go-ahead on the food, they all dive in. The flavors are : coniglio (rabbit), salmone, vitella (veal), manzo (beef), manzo con verdura (with veggies, etc.) These are the best flavors. Justy roams the villa and has fun chasing the other two girls around. His favorite place, however is in front of the massive fireplace where he stays very cozy and warm. Although he lives with two fetching female felines, he is a complete gentleman and is very forgiving of their occasional unsolicited pops on the head for no apparent reason. He has a new scratching post called Pinocchio, which had a dangling feather fish attached to it for about five minutes. Of course, being Justy, and always doing the right thing, he is the only one who uses it. He loves the villa and Italian life but is not too bothered at the prospect of returning to New York in the fall (better television shows). The End
This is how Monique described Justy in 1998 : "Justy", Tajhara's Just A Gigolo of Imzadi, is one of the most loving cats ever created. Justy is a 7 year old former stud who was neutered in October 1997. He loves to crawl in your lap and hug or to be picked up and carried. He will lick Monique's face over and over "kissing" her until she has had enough. He loves to sleep up by your head with a paw touching you. He is a very stunning Ruddy with a big ruff of fur around his neck and he is the father of five CFA Grand Champions. His health is robust and has only had one minor health problem in his life. He had his teeth cleaned when he was neutered, his gums are good and he is physically robust.
He came to Monique at age 4 from California because his breeders had to move and couldn't keep a stud. It took him about 10 days to adjust and then he never wanted to leave her lap.
Justy was Monique's first stud and was able to roam the house for almost 2 years with two younger male cats. Then his son grew up. Because of territorial (spraying) behavior they had to go live in a large walk-in-cage. The three "boys" lived together happily sharing the same large walk in cage. Gradually Justy became aggressive and hostile toward his son Sidewinder until Justy decided that Sidewinder couldn't share the cage.
Monique had hoped this would change when he was neutered, but Justy still doesn't like Sidewinder and "yells" at him. Like Freud's Oedipus Complex, father and son are competitors. Justy has been living happily with another stud so the problem seems to be that he just doesn't like his son. Justy has been neutered more than a year but he still "hates" his son Sidewinder. They cannot be left outside at the same time. This is stressful to the cattery environment and restricts the time that Justy can roam. Most of the time he is companion to an unneutered male and he likes the male "teenage kittens" so this dislike appears to be just for Sidewinder. Just like a psychologist to have a cat with Oedipal problems!
If you want a cat who will put his arms around your shoulders and kiss you for minutes at a time, Justy is your "man". He should well adjust to most environments.

Imzadi's Funny Girl
Funny Girl comes running when her name is called. She is a 3 year old Red female Somali. She also answers to "Mommy" because she was such a sweet mommy kitty. She had one litter and she is now spayed and would be a delightful pet. "Mommy" is very affectionate and likes to be in the middle of things. She is gregarious and likes to visit with new people. When I'm working she stays in the consultation room and tend to the needs of my clients. Like most Somalis, she has a very quiet voice and only speaks when she has something to say, something like, "I'm so pleased you opened my canned food".
She is playful and enjoys all forms of teaser games. "Mommy" likes to lick my nose and kneads me as means of showing affection. She enjoys curling up on the lap of a loved one or sitting next to a new friend.
