The
tructor, built in 2002 for the fun of it, but it is useful, believe
it or not. It can maneuver into tight places where a pick-up
would be too big. it is the sole creations of Doug. His creativity,
his knowledge and his determination put the tructor together
from his race truck which was just too heavy for racing. the
old truck cost $40.00 and within 15 minutes of it coming off
the trailer he had it running. He and Andy worked together to
get it on the dirt track but it's weight was just too much for
speed. After replacing the transmission and trying again, he
decided the expense of racing was too much and would make a trailer
out of the bed. The bed still sits, waiting to have a hitch welded
on because the tructor idea came to mind and he had to challenge
himself, as always, with great success. So far the tructor has
been used to move the flatbed trailer and boat in and out of
the fence. It goes through mud easier than a pick-up and has
been a toy as well as a work horse. It was given the name "trucktor"
because it has the ability of a truck and a tractor. He has a
few other ideas for it and be building attachements for it in
the future. He also plans to take it to some mud races to see
just how well it can handle mud. There is a winch on the back
of it and a hitch, so getting stuck isn't a concern. Look below
for another creation of Doug's. |

A need to pull a motor from
one race car to put into another led to this brain storm of an
idea. With some scrap iron, an old axle and wheels, Doug completely
manufactored this portable hoist in our backyard. He even had
to heat and bend some metal and the finished results look factory
made. There's nothing this man can't do! |

Doug's latest project is enclosing the porch.
He will put the washer and dryer on it and convert the present
laundry room into a pantry. The enclosed porch will also serve
as a mud room, a sun room for my plnats and a safe area for the
dogs to stay when I have to leave them alone.
