Description : With advent of internet and WDM/DWDM networks, the buzz word of higher Bandwidth requirement and bandwidth on demand is on the lips of all technocrats. To fulfill the the requirement of these networks ,require hardware components so as to make optical networks feasible . Some of the Basic components have been designed in the thesis work. Starting from the analysis of channel waveguide to complicated design of directional coupler and electrode have been simulated on C on Linux platform. The design results are in congruence with the results available in standard literatures. These parameters which have been calculated can used for fabrication and later on for industry production.

Semester Projects:

1. Performance Analysis of "Optical Network" and shortest path analysis using Dikstara's algothrim.

We have analysed "ALOHA/SLOTTED ALOHA, ALOHA/ALOHA" obtained optimal based optical networks and found out the blocking probability of the network. Also we have done analysis of shortest path algorithm in programming language C on Linux.

2. Socket Programming for setting up " Chat server"

Chat server with 8-10 clients was created so that can chat with each other in public mode and private mode.

3. Throughput Analysis of Arrayed Waveguide Grating based Mux/Demux

We have analyzed Arrayed Waveguide grating based Mux/Demux for WDM network. we were able to simulate 16 channel Mux/Demux with channel spacing of 32nm.
