A little way east of Castlerock is a long stone jetty. The presence of this jetty has helped to creat a conssistent sandbank. |

A little way east of Castlerock is a long stone jetty. The presence of this jetty has helped to creat a conssistent sandbank. This bank is best surfed around mid tide when it can produce an excellent, long righthander, best from 3-6ft. Any bigger and it will close out. From to low tide the sands are wide and frim and safe for most vehicles to drive on. You can either drive from Castlerock or, alternatively, it is possible to drive along the beach from Portetwart and paddile out through the river, round the jetty, to the wave. |

PORTRUSH EAST STRAND |
Portrush, like Portstewart is a popular holiday resort for people living in N.ireland. On Eastern side of the peninsula, you find a good beach brack which is is also a good spot to check out on the big swell, when the other nearby beaches are closing out. Big car park next to the beach |
Portstewart itself, is a busy seaside resort which gets crowede during summer months. The beach here can provide some of N.ireland's gentler waves with good rights and lefts surfable up to around 8ft. Either park above the beach, or do as the locals do and park on the sands. |

PORTBALLINTREE |
Just to the East of Portballintree lies a consistent bay which is often a foot or two bigger, and more powerful than other nearby beaches. Quality will depend on the state of the sandbacks and winds direct; Too much west init will mess the swell up. Good to 8tf. Park in Portballintree, next to the SW corner of the beach. From here it's a short walk |
