BUBORUS, THE PLAGUE MASTER.......................330 points
Buborus is an individual character who may lead any Chaos Nurgle units normally allowed to be lead by a character. He may also be the army general in which case he replaces the general in the army list section of the Chaos army list.
Buborus is feared throughout all the kingdoms of men and only spoken of in whispers. His name strikes fear in to the hearts of warrior and coward alike. All men hope that they will never meet with the one they call The Plague Master. Generations after generations of men pass the warning of Buborus on to their children, for they would be in grave danger if they did not know of the great danger of Buborus.
Buborus was originally called Marcus Halz, and was a leading businessman in the imperial city of Nuln. He became very wealthy over many years of successful trading and grew very happy. But suddenly, and without warning, he was struck down by a disease that would end his life in less than a month. He cried out for help, and these cries were answered by Nurgle, lord of all contagions. His family were relieved and suprised when he faught off the disease and became fully healthy again. However, one night he crept out and started his long trek towards the Chaos Wastes to be united with his lord Nurgle.
Along the way he started to mutate and change as Nurgle blessed him with gifts. With these gifts he killed many hundreds of people, which pleased his master Nurgle very much indeed. By the time he reached the Chaos Wastes he no longer looked anything like he had previously, his body was covered with blisters and horrific mutations. He was welcomed in to the ranks of Nurgle, as a champion.
His work was far from over though. Nurgle had many more plagues and diseases for him to spread and so sent him back to the Empire in the winter of 2508. During that winter thousands died in the nort of the Empire from deadly diseases. This was how he became a name of horror among men. He made many strikes of terror like this in to the Empire, as well as to Tilea, Araby, Albion and as far off places as the distant land of Cathay.
Buborus is always ready to do the work of Nurgle, still thankful today of the gift of life that Nurgle gave him, still spreading plagues for his beloved master.

Plague Master
Buborus is able to infect anyone he is even close, resulting in immediate weakness and eventually death. Any enemy has -1S on 4+ every turn he is in base-to-base contact with Buborus, in addition the enemy suffers an automatic -1WS. If the model's S drops to 0 he counts as being dead. In a campaign if the model does not die during the battle from the disease, roll a die afterwards: on a 4+ the model dies from the disease a day later.
Fear
Buborus' bloated body is a fearful sight to behold, driving many men insane with fear. For this reason, Buborus causes Fear - see the Warhammer Rulebook for details.
Regeneration
Buborus may regenerate any wounds inflicted on him at the end of the turn on a 4+. He may not regenerate wounds caused by flaming or flame-like weapons. See the Warhammer Rulebook for further details on Regeneration.
