Writing a Bibliography

W hen children take notes from any book, magazine, internet site or other resources to put into a project or report they should record the source.  This is called a bibliography.

The following guide will assist in the development of the bibliography.

Books

Smith, L., (1999), The big book of insects.
London: Macmillan

The author (write the surname first, then the first name - Smith, L.

The date the book was published  - this is written in brackets (1999),

The title of the book (followed by a full stop) The big book of insects.

The place the book was published (followed by a colon:) London:

The name of the publisher. Macmillan

Internet sites
