TEXT--> As our plane touched down in San Jose del Cabo, I peered from the window to see what appeared to be a barren desert. Descending the stairs to the tarmac, the heat closed around me, taking my breath away. Within moments of landing I began questioning my decision of leaving my
family
and
friends
to spend a week in this place.

My previous trips into Mexico, across the Texas border to Matamoras and Juarez did nothing to allay my fears. I followed my friend, Shelly and her sister, Terry, led by their brother, Danny and his wife, Karen, into the airport. After getting the green light through customs, we shared a cramped, non-airconditioned tourbus with other new arrivals for our trip to
Cabo San Lucas. After a half hour's drive through more desert,we finally reached our destination.
It wasn't until we passed through the entrance, and into the open air lobby, that I breathed a sigh of relief to realize that
Club Cascadas
and the sea beyond was a
tropical wonderland.
