InMe

 A Lesson in Teenage Angst.

Although looking barely out of school - due to the fact that they left school last year - InMe are one of British alt-rock’s brightest hopes.

The Essex trio are based around the androgynous good looks of singer and guitarist Dave McPherson, whose prodigious musical talent and soaring falsetto vocals have led to comparisons with Muse. With lyrics steeped in poetic teenage angst, InMe  possess an impressive musical maturity, have played together since the early years of secondary school  and been friends further back still (McPherson and bassist Joe Morgan met at infant school).

With debut album Overgrown Eden recorded and ready for release, and incessant heavy rotation for both the Firefly and UnderDose singles on MTV and Kerrang! TV, success seems assured.

Still, as capable as they seem musically, one can’t help but worry a little that such a clinically comprehensive promotional campaign may not necessarily be in the best interests of so young a band. The days of slowly nurturing talent until success is achieved organically now seem as outmoded as similar processes in farming so, here’s hoping that InMe’s undeniable talent is allied to resilience – should the road to success prove too rapid.

With dates on the tour selling out fast, the latter eventuality seems the more likely, and this will possibly be your last chance to see them in such intimate surroundings.

My Reply: This is a decent review, but they could've mentioned Simon Taylor!
