SugarComa Tour: (InMe support) -The Roadhouse, Manchester.

New Signings to the MFN label, Essex teens InMe sound like the finished article, but still look like a work in progress. Vocalist, Dave McPherson is pretty enough to have the girlies swooning (once they know who he is, of course) but exudes all the between-song presence of a rabbit caught in headlights. The confidence will come in time, though, and for now the three-piece have enough going for them musically to eclipse their nervous air. Starting with a solid base of sinuous rhythms and muscular riffs, InMe alternate between bright melodies and explosive bursts of noise in similar post-grunge fashion to Vex Red (albeit minus the electronic embellishments). McPherson has both the power and range to carry off this light-and-shade approach, and their forthcoming debut 'Overgrown Eden' should cause quite a stir.
