Biography

After the Moffatts split around August 2001, Clint & Bob Moffatt formed a new band with Shaun MacPherson & Paul Cimolini (both formerly of three.hour.midnight). Together, under the band name Pusch they played their first live show on New Years Eve of 2001 at the Sunshine Ski Village in Banff, with a follow up show on New Years Day. After a few more shows in 2002 Shaun decided to leave the band to pursue other things. Pusch continued as a trio while looking for a new guitarist - they found Christopher Ainsley who had previously played with a band called "Cope". He completed the band, but for uncertain reasons Pusch had to change their name. There were a few ideas in the picture but eventually it was decided that the new name would be Hidell. By 2003 the band had a finished album and their first single - "Going Down In Flames" was released on 1st April that year with the album - Up & Coming following later on. On the 15th May they started playing gigs at pubs, cafes & festivals.

Although Pusch came together after the Moffatts split it has been said that they actually formed in March 2001.
Clint & Bob are from Bragg Creek, Alberta.
Chris is from Niagara Falls, Ontario.
Paul is from either Nanaimo or Lantzville, British Columbia.
Up & Coming was recorded independantly at Sundae Studio in Calgary, Alberta with producer Russell Broom.
Their American debut was on 18th February 2002 @ The Winter Olympics in Park City, Utah.
They were signed to EMI Music, Canada/Capitol Records.
