About....  [Family Pictures]
I'm 35 and a Sr. Application Architect for a ATM transaction processing company.  I design, model and develop online software applications for any range of client needs.  I have been married to the same beautiful woman for 13 years and plan on being married another 100 (if she'll have me).  Together we have three great kiddos that are the inner fire and driving force of my life.
Recreationally I like to play softball and work on The Ghost. I enjoy training for triathlons with my son.  I have done a number of tri's in the past five years and it's time for me to put aside my training and start helping my son work to finish his first one.  We are planning on hitting the Tri-Raider Sprint this year in Lubbock.  My son is an amazing young man. Together with my wife and I, when he was only 8, he was the third leg in the local town triathlon at our gym.  I did the swimming, my wife took care of the 12 mile cycling event and my son rocked the 3.2 mile run!!  <I have an image...but I can't find it to scan in>

Some basic notes...if you have already taken a look at the Projects link then you have probably guessed that I'm an advocate of Open Source.  All of the software I develop personally I slap on Source Forge and give away.  I'm strongly against Microsoft and SCO both of which openly state that open source software is "bad" for the country -- "whatever!".  Darl McBride and Bill Gates both would love to see the open source community dry up and go away.  I'm a simple man who tries to live a simple life and in doing so, in order to at least rebel against Corporate American tyrants such as these two, I openly publish my source in hopes that someone, somewhere will be able take advantage of the the work and knowledge that I have accumulated.

That Funky Bio cookie cutter thing
Education I grew up on a farm in a small town. Did that Associate thing (Architecture and Machine Design) that doesn't last long if your very ambitious.  Followed it up with a Degree in Computer Science and with some help from the good Lord I'm going to finish my masters near the end of the summer.

Favorite Web-Site Without Question: /.  (aka: SlashDot)
If I won $1 meeelion dollars The question of "who are you really". Were I given one million dollars I'd pay off what debt I have, give a lot of it the United Way (Wife and Children services) and with the remainder I'd create a scholarship program for kids who don’t fit the mold of the American way. It does put a heavy burden on my soul that individuality is no longer an asset but a hindrance. It seems everyone wants everyone else to be "just like them".  Our society would be so proud of itself if they could raise a generation of sheep.
Favorite Movies I like anything sci-fi, fantasy and horror related. My favorites movies (and this can change depending on my mood) are:  Matrix, Alien, 13th Warrior, Gladiator .. etc
Favorite Foods Anything Mexican for meals and for social outings I love sushi
Music Heavy, hard and driving! (oh yeah, and very loud) Tool, Korn, Splipknot, Kid Rock, Metallica...etc
What I want to do when I grow up When I grow up, and my wife doesn't think that's going to happen any time soon, I would like to write books on software architecture and development. Not the fancy ones for smart people...because I always had a hard time understanding those. I'd like to write introductory books that help developers who are early in their career get to the next step without have to read books to understand the books they are reading.

I have to admit, the men's team was pretty tight that year. Finished 1st in Division and 1st in City both seasons.
