Surfing trip to Galveston...I'm on the trip so it's a piss-poor index for the moment
July 19...Hit the State Capital today and got to watch some interesting stuff...will comment more later. Until then here's the [pics]
Monday...I've waited all summer for this; We hit the golf course today! (After Matrix 3 is over, geeks have their priorities) Here is the [course] and [scorecard] we'll be playing on today. Their website states that the Galveston Municipal Golf Course is ranked as one of the top 5 in Texas. We'll see :)
Hrmm...it's hard to say exactly how HARD this course was..so I'll just leave it that between the three of us we lost around 15 balls [Pics]

Two
things on this one! First off --I
have Graduated with my Masters!!-- Damn glad
that's over with....
Secondly, I've planted a
Habanero plant in my garden this year...I have childishly even
go so far as to name it, El Guapo. Yes...from the 'Three
Amigos'.
I plan on blogging it's growth and finally showing the end of
the road when it turns into El Guapo Hot Sauce!!

One
friend of mine, who is an avid mountain biker calls us on the
way down to PDC and says "I can't make it, suppose to be
hailing down that way" ... PPfffttt!! Whatever Yo!
The rest of us went on and we ground out 90 minutes of nothing
but hard-core, mud in your eye mountain biking!
Well...here's to the mud in your eye!

My
dislike towards Microsoft has grown again today. I can
not stand this evil empire and when my rage calms down, and
the color returns to my face I'll post more. Here is the
post that sets me off (from /. )
Gates Calls for Increase in Tech Labor Supply
"Reuters is reporting that Bill Gates is asking for the removal of quotas for guest workers by removing the caps on non-immigrant alien workers. In a mild attempt at balance, buried near the end of the story, the article also says "Undersecretary of Commerce Phil Bond, a top Bush administration technology official, pointed out that the unemployment rate for engineers is above the national average." I'm wondering if raising wages might attract the "needed" workers from domestic sources or is Gate's request "necessary to remain competitive and innovative"." |

Started
working on the web-site. I've had it in "storage"
for over a year now. I do a lot of crap that is
nothing more than time consuming. Most notable is the
unhealthy amount of time I spend playing EQ.
Promised myself last night that I would do more...be
more...we'll see how long that last.
What will most likely find it's way onto this blog?
With luck the counting down of the months and days until I
finish my masters degree. Information Technology,
mastering in Network Encryption and Security.
A training report as I get ready to return to Lubbock to give
my old rival, the Tri-Raider, a run. I'm dead set on beating
my best time of 1 hour and 48 minutes.
With hope, some pictures of my truck as my son and I convert
the V-6 1984 S-15 Jimmy to a V-8. We've named it the
"ghost" due to it's tacky primer color and the fact
that it haunts the garage and yard since it doesn't yet run.
That's all I have for today....back to the hoopla I call life. |
