Henning State Park: Enjoy the scenic overlook and various hiking trails. West Hwy. 76 between Branson and Shepherd of the Hills.
Alexander City Park: Located off Cliff Drive. Shaded parks with walking trails and a ballpark.
Stockstill Park: Located between Roark Valley Road and Hwy 248.
Dewey Short Visitor Center: Learn the history of the lake and the building of the dam. Visitor center open from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. (See picture below)

Free Attractions
The Engler Block: (335-3570) Over 30 specialty stores and artists at work.
Stone Hill Winery: (334-1897) free tours of the winery. Open year-round 8:30 AM to dusk. Sunday 11:00 AM till 6:00 PM. Located two blocks south of Hwy. 76 on 165.
College of the Ozarks: (334-6411) Four-year liberal arts college. A community within itself. The students work 15 hours per week. Several attractions include Edwards Mill-a working grist mill; William Memorial Chapel; Ralph Foster Museum; and a Fruitcake and Jelly kitchen.
Bass Pro Shops: (887-1815 ext. 4330) Open Monday-Saturday 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Sunday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Powersite Dam: Crosses the White River to form Lake Taneycomo. Take East Hwy. 76 approximately 12 miles; turn left onto Hwy. 160 at Forsythe; turn left again on Hwy. Y for two miles.
Sycamore Log Church: Small structure made of sycamore logs. Take Hwy. 65 to Hwy. 248 then drive 6 miles. Turn left at the Sycamore Log Church sign.
"Y" Bridge: This unique bridge near Galena is in the shape of a Y, and was built over the James River. The bridge was recently restored. Find Galena and the bridge where Hwy. 13 and 248 merge about 8 miles north of Reeds Spring.
