Love for the Sake of Allah (SWT)

home

One of the best distinguishing features of the true Muslim is his love for his friends and brothers in faith, a love that isn't taken by worldly interest or motives; A TRUE LOVE, whose purity is from the light of Islamic Guidance ; A Love for the sake of Allah.

The Messenger of God (PBUH) has been reported to have said: "There are three things that whoever attains them will find the sweetness of faith: If Allah and His Messenger are dearer to him than anyone else; if he loves a person solely for the sake of Allah; and if he would hate to return to kufr after Allah has rescued him from it, as much as he would hate to be thrown into fire." [Agreed upon]

~Love between people~

* THE PROPHET (SAW) SAID:

"NO TWO MEN LOVE ONE ANOTHER , BUT THE BETTER OF THEM IS THE ONE WHOSE LOVE FOR HIS BROTHER IS GREATER" [AL-BUKHARI IN AL-ADAB AL-MUFRAD]

* THE PROPHET (SAW) SAID:

" IF A MAN LOVES HIS BROTHER, LET HIM TELL HIM THAT HE LOVES HIM" [Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi, who said it is a sahih hadith]

* THE PROPHET (SAWS) WAS REPORTED TO HAVE SAID:

" BY THE ONE IN WHOSE HAND IS MY SOUL, YOU WILL NOT ENTER PARADISE UNTIL YOU BELIEVE, AND YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE UNTIL YOU LOVE ONE ANOTHER. SHALL I NOT TELL YOU OF SOMETHING THAT IF YOU DO IT, YOU WILL LOVE ONE ANOTHER? SPREAD SALAAM AMONGST YOURSELVES." [MUSLIM}

* THE PROPHET (SAWS) WAS REPORTED TO HAVE SAID:

"THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BELIEVERS IS LIKE A WALL, PARTS OF WHICH SUPPORT OTHER PARTS" [MUSLIM]

A MUSLIM DOES NOT FORSAKE OR ABANDON HIS BROTHER

~The Prophet (SAW)said:

" NO TWO PEOPLE WHO LOVE ONE ANOTHER FOR THE SAKE OF ALLAH, OR FOR THE SAKE OF ISLAM, WILL LET THE FIRST MINOR OFFENCE OF EITHER OF THEM COME BETWEEN THEM" [BUKHARI]

~The Prophet also has been reported to have said:

IT IS NOT PERMISSIBLE FOR A MUSLIM TO BE ESTRANGED FROM HIS BROTHER FOR MORE THAN THREE DAYS, BOTH OF THEM TURNING AWAY FROM ONE ANOTHER WHEN THEY MEET. THE BETTER OF THEM IS THE ONE WHO IS FIRST TO GREET THE OTHER" [BUKHARI AND MUSLIM]

~The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

"Whoever is estranged from his brother for a year, it is as if he has shed blood" {BUKHARI}

~Prophet Muhammad also has been reported to have said:

"There should be no breaking off of ties, no turning away from one another, no hating one another, and no envying one another. Be brothers, as Allah has commanded you" [MUSLIM}

"The Believers are but a single brotherhood."

[Surat al-Hujurat 49:10]
