STIC MANUAL -2004
The Sector-Specific terminology Information and Counselling Manuals ( STIC) are designed to be used in the classroom to assist newcomers to integrate into their specific field of expertise in Ontario. Information in these manuals includes licensing/certification requirements, labour market conditions and terminology specific to the occupation.
Reviewed the latest revisions of the Professional Engineers Act and made changes accordingly.
Researched labour market conditions for engineers and other technical specialists and identified future employment trends.
Revised and/or added resources helpful to newcomers including other community-based agencies, directories of services, publications, associations and other organizations as related to the engineering and technology profession
Incorporated changes and updates into manual and submitted for approval
Courses for Internationally Trained Engineers - 2006
The courses are aimed at assisting Internationally Trained Engineers to upgrade their skills and knowledge towards securing a job in their related field as well as gain the preliminary knowledge to plan their career development better. This project is a collaborative effort among Service Canada, non-profit organizations and a community college.
