Highlights

STIC MANUAL -2004

The Sector-Specific terminology Information and Counselling Manuals ( STIC) are designed to be used in the classroom to assist newcomers to integrate into their specific field of expertise in Ontario. Information in these manuals includes licensing/certification requirements, labour market conditions and terminology specific to the occupation.

  • Reviewed the latest revisions of the Professional Engineers Act and made changes accordingly.

    • Researched labour market conditions for engineers and other technical specialists and identified future employment trends.

    • Revised and/or added resources helpful to newcomers including other community-based agencies, directories of services, publications, associations and other organizations as related to the engineering and technology profession

    • Incorporated changes and updates into manual and submitted for approval

Courses for Internationally Trained Engineers - 2006

The courses are aimed at assisting Internationally Trained Engineers to upgrade their skills and knowledge towards securing a job in their related field as well as gain the preliminary knowledge to plan  their career development better. This project is a collaborative effort among Service Canada, non-profit organizations and a community college.
