Snowy Snowy Hair

by Liz Larabell
Note: this masterpiece was written in 2000 by Liz Larabell. It is (obviously) an absolutely hysterical parody of "Starry Starry Night"! I have a recording of Liz actually (gorgeously) singing her masterpiece a cappella, which I'll gladly forward to you if you drop me a line at better_still at yahoo.com. It is CLASSIC! But now, let the hilarity begin...

Snowy Snowy Hair

Snowy, snowy hair
Before you go out today
Use that spray to make it stay
And hope that no one notices your flakes

Covering it up
It’s hard to do without a hat
But only those who wield a bat
Can get away with not washing their hair

Watch them stop and stare
As my dandruff flies away
Oh, how did I know that it wouldn’t stay
On my scalp, where it belongs?
I didn’t scrub it; I had not the time
And now I’ll pay the crime

Snowy, snowy hair
Flaming faces everywhere
Contain laughter, and I swear
That someday, they too will forget to wash

And then I will watch
As their dandruff fills the air
It won’t hide within their hair
And I will laugh at them as they did me

For they couldn’t help it
But still my pride was hurt
And when I found I couldn’t bear
Wearing snowy, snowy hair

I chopped it all off in a deranged fit
But nobody ever told me
That dandruff can be stopped
And that it wasn’t all my fault

Snowy, snowy hair
Now my head is wrongly bare
I swear to God, it wasn’t Nair
That took away my gorgeous, silky hair

Please, don’t look so long;
I can’t believe what I have done
My tears make my mascara run
I’ll never hear the end of this one

Watch them stop and stare
As my dandruff flies away
Oh, how did I know that it wouldn’t stay
On my scalp, where it belongs?
I didn’t scrub it and I don’t scrub still
Perhaps I never will...
