In Their Own Words – Washington Holiday
Ensign Harriet Beaumont Sims
By Jo (jhuppcla@knox.net)
I've never seen JAG headquarters before; Bud's lucky to be working there. Now that I've been assigned to Norfolk, I hope we'll get to see each other a bit. I really liked it when he kissed me back on the Seahawk.

We're going out! Only I'm not sure who asked whom. I'm so happy to be in Washington!

La Tours was nice. It would have been nicer if Bud had shown up. He was waiting in front of my apartment when Lieutenant Knox dropped me off, though. Maybe I shouldn't have been so hard on him. I would have liked to go to the NATO ball, but Lieutenant Knox asked me first. I didn't know why Bud hadn't shown up at that point.

Wow, it's almost 0300 and I just got in. Bud took me to an all-night diner after the ball and we talked over cheeseburgers and onion rings. He's really glad I'm in Washington.
The ball was so exciting, and not all in a good way. An assassin tried to shoot Princess Alexandra of Romania. In the chaos, one of the Secret Service agents was shot, as well as the assassin. I guess Bud and I were lucky we weren't near the action -- I'm sure Major MacKenzie and Commander Rabb were up late giving statements.
