Dreams to Dream: Part 3
By: Cowgirl

I knocked on her door a half an hour later carrying my camera and my money. Alahna's mother answered and let me inside. I walked into the living room where I heard the familiar voice of Gabriel Damon and the line "Never fear, Brooklyn is here." and saw Alahna and all of the guys spread out on the floor watching the movie Newsies.

"So Alahna, where are we going to take these guys? Movies, amusement parks, shopping?" I asked as they all turned around to face me.

"Why not all three?" She said cheerfully.

I nodded. "Okay. We got out of school early today so we have some extra time. We need three hours for the movie. It's one o' clock now. The show starts at seven, that would leave about five hours for other things. Leaving one hour for driving from place to place. So three hours at the amusement park and two of shopping or just one of shopping and four at the amusement park?" I asked.

She thought for a minute. "How about one and a half hours of shopping?"

"Okay, that sounds good. Do you want to get ready now?"

She nodded. "Right. I'll be ready in just a minute."

I sat and talked to the guys for fifteen minutes. I was explaining to Race what the Titanic was when she finally came out of her room. "Wow. Could ya imagine havin' a ticket on dat boat?" He said in wonder.

I shrugged. "I always wonder what it would have been like and what I would have done."

Blink smiled. "It would have been great sailin' ta New Yawk in da greatest ship eva'."

I stared at him. "Uh..... yeah."

Alahna stared at us impatiently. "Are you ready?"

I started to get up but looked at the others and started laughing. "What's so funny?" She asked.

I stopped laughing and looked at Jack. "Well, don't you think they might stick out a little dressed like that? I mean, they're almost a hundred years in the future. That's not exactly how guys dress now."

She nodded. "Not a problem. We go to your house, you have brothers."

I shrugged. "I guess. None of them are home right now. So we can borrow them without having to explain why."

We drove to my house and got Jack and the others some clothes that wouldn't stick out as bad. After that we headed for the mall. I love malls. Blink was fascinated with the stuff in the shops like Spencers (mainly the posters of the girls in bikinis) , Race was drooling over the cigar shops, Spot.... well, every girl in the mall was staring at Spot and he didn't do anything but act tuff, and Jack..... actually, I was more interested in Jack than in what he was looking at.

We looked around for a while and went into music stores, book stores (my favorite), clothing stores, gift shops, and Blink "accidently" went into Victoria's Secret.

After a while I managed to drag Jack into a photo booth. "What's dis?" He asked. I almost laughed because he didn't know what a photo booth was. I pointed at the camera and started to explain. "You pose and that thing takes about four pictures of you. You choose one of the four pictures and this thing prints out some copies of the picture you chose."

He smiled. "Dat don't sound too complicated."

I put the money in the slot and got ready for it to start taking pictures. I looked over at Jack and started laughing hysterically at his pose. In all of the pictures, Jack was doing something that made me laugh. The camera finally took the last picture, so Jack and I stepped out of the booth, picked one of the poses, and waited for the pictures to print out.

"Where are da others?" Jack asked.

I picked up the pictures and looked around. "Hey! They left us! Great, now we have to go find them!"

I handed the pictures to Jack and we started to look for them. We walked around the mall looking for the others for what seemed like hours but was really only about fifteen minutes. We stopped in front of a shoe store and I turned around in a circle a couple of times hoping to spot someone. I stared across the mall at one of the stores with Jack sitting on a bench behind me. He laughed quietly. "I say we give up. Besides, I don't mind being alone with you."

I froze and could see myself blush. I was just happy he couldn't see me, I probably looked terrified.

I heard him laugh and jumped a mile when I realized he was standing right beside me, which only made him laugh harder. "Ya..... shoulda seen da..... look on yer...... face!" He said inbetween breaths.

I blushed even more and looked down at the floor. He finally stopped laughing and smiled at me. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean ta embarrass ya."

I glanced at him and quickly switched my gaze to the ceiling. "You didn't embarrass me." I lied unconvincingly.

He looked at me suspiciously. "Oh really? Is dat why yer face toined as red as a tomato?"

I started to blush again and looked across the mall trying to avoid looking at Jack. I was praying for something to happen soon before I got so embarrassed I had a nervous breakdown right in front of him, when I saw Alahna talking to Spot. "There they are!" I said a little too eagerly as I started walking in their direction.
