Dreams to Dream: Part 4

"Alahna!" I said happily as I got within hearing distance.

She spun around to face me. "Where have you been?" She asked suspiciously as Jack walked up casually toward us.

I shrugged. "Looking for you. How much time do we have left?"

She looked at me, then at Jack, and finally at her watch. "Oh, we have about ten minutes. I guess we better go now."

I nodded. "Yeah, lets go." We started walking toward the doors where we met Blink and Race and Alahna slowed down and let the guys go ahead. "What's up with you and Jack?" She asked curiously.

"Nothing!" I snapped and started blushing.

She nodded. "Yeah, right. Nothing. I believe you." She said sarcastically and caught up with Spot.

Jack glanced over his shoulder and saw me walking alone wallowing in my own self-misery so he walked back to me. "Ya all right?"

"I uh.... I-I-I um..." I stuttered nervously.

He smiled. "Yer shy, ain't ya?" I nodded and blushed. "Ya didn't seem shy when I foist talked ta ya. Why?" He asked curiously.

I shrugged and replied quietly. "I don't know. I was just in shock I guess."

He nodded. "So, are ya always dis quiet?"

I shook my head. "No."

"So ya do talk ta people."

"Yeah."

"Who?" He asked slowly.

I pushed my hair behind my ear. I don't think I had ever been so nervous in my life. "My friends." I replied quietly.

"Oh, so I'm not yer friend?" He said, pretending to be hurt.

I felt my eyes grow as big as saucers. "Yeah... I,no. Um.... well, I yeah, I guess."

He smiled. "Well, now we're getting somewhere. So, if I'm yer friend, why ain't ya talkin' ta me?"

I shrugged. "I only met you a couple of hours ago. I don't know you all that well so I'm still nervous around you."

He put a shocked look on his face. "Wow! Dat was a whole sentence! So ya do know how ta talk!" He said sarcastically.

I laughed quietly and he smiled at me. "See, I even got ya ta laugh. I think I found myself a challenge. I bet you, dat I will have ya talkin' ta me....... before we leave dis amusement park you an' Alahna keep talkin' about."

I stared at him skeptically. "Yer on." I paused for a second. "Great, now I'm starting to talk like you."

He laughed. "Yeah, I noticed. Come on, da others are getting ahead of us."

I leaned over to talk to Jack. "So, uh..... Jacky-Boy, what were you an' dat goil talkin' about?"

He stared at me. "Why do you want to know Spot?"

I shrugged. "I was just wondering."

"Oh really? Well, maybe someday I'll tell ya."

I couldn't help but smile. I knew there was something going on between those two.

We got out of the car and walked into the amusement park. I looked around. "So Alahna, what are we going to go on first?"

She smiled. "The roller coaster."

Jack looked at me. "What's dat?"

I sighed and pointed to the roller coaster on the other side of the park. "That's a roller coaster. There are three or four in this park but that one is probably the one she wants to go on, it's the biggest."

He nodded. "Oh, what does it do?"

I laughed. "You'll find out. Just be glad she doesn't insist on bunjy jumping."

"What's dat?"

I looked at him blankly. "What's what? ..... Oh! Bunjy jumping! It's when these guys tie a rope around you and take you up really high in the air and drop you. Some people think it's fun but the only keeping you alive is a little cord. Do you want to try it?"

He shook his head. "I think I'll pass on dat one."

I laughed and started walking towards the roller coaster. We finally got to the other side of teh park and stood in line for the roller coaster. Luckily, the line was short and we were on the ride in less than five minutes. Blink sat with Race, Alahna was with Spot, and I was with Jack.

I laughed nervously and looked at Jack as the roller coaster started to move. "Get ready for the ride of your life!" We moved up to the first hill and started climbing, Jack looked at me nervously. "How much higher does dis thing go?" I looked at him and was about to answer, when we reached the top and started to drop down. Everyone on the roller coaster threw up their hands and started screaming. I was doing the same as everyone else except I was holding onto the bar in front of me like my life depended on it. We reached the bottom and there was a sharp turn that jerked everyone to the right and then we went into a double loop followed by a twist, a couple of turns, and another hill.

It finally stopped and we all got out and started walking for the exit. "Whoa, you weren't kiddin' when ya said "Da ride of yer life."." Jack said as he started to climb down the stairs.

I nodded. "Um... yeah. Ya know, I used to be so scared of those things when I was a kid. I like them now. The hills still bother me a little but I love the loops and turns."

Alahna turned around and smiled. "Hey Sandy! We're going bunjy jumping next!"
