The

Chau-llins

Conspiracy

I really should've typed this in black, but all that black up close... *shudder*

This conspiracy will prove two things, both hard to believe.
1) That Mr. Collins of "Pride and Prejudice" fame is secretly in line with Jane
and
2) Mr. Collins is really Chauvelin in disguise!

Let's tackle #2 first, as it's the easiest to prove.
1) They both always wear black
2) They both have frumpy cravats
3) You never see them in the same place at the same time
(Clark Kent = Superman proof)

Chauvelin took Percy's tricks to heart and used them himself.
However, Percy had disgretion. While he disguised himself with a nasty wig and moustache, Chauvie took up a full face mask, greasy wig, and made hiimself seem shorter. He also made himself into an idiot, obsessed with the wonders of dear Lady Catherine. He did all this simply to try to infiltrate the people of England to learn any new information about the whereabouts of that elusive Pimpernel!

Now, onto the first statement:

Obviously, if Chauvelin wanted to catch Blakeney, he would employ the services of the most powerful woman in the world!
In return for help in finding the Pimpernel, he would offer "snuff" to anyone he ran in contact with. (Don't worry, he has a secret stash of the real stuff for himself)
Here are some instances in the BBC version of "Pride and Prejudice" that obviously show Mr. Collins and Jane sending secret signals to each other:

1) During the second time Mr. Chaullins is having dinner with the Bennets, he and Jane sit right across the table from each other. (Suspicious in itself!) They also exchange several MEANINGFUL glances!
2) Mrs. Bennet and Mr. Chaullins take a walk together and Mr. Chaullins hints that he would like to marry Jane. (Maybe to throw Mrs. Bennet off from suspecting him, maybe because he admires Jane?)
3) The scariest of them all. During the Lizzy-Darcy dance, the camera focuses on Lizzy's face and you can see Jane in the background. Jane is nodding her head in slow motion. This was supposively because a hair got caught in the film and, because some film was destroyed, they had to make up time somehow.
Jane was just innocently nodding?
I don't think so.
If you watch further, you will see the camera pan over to see Mr. Chaullins nodding at her as well!
Hm... what color was the punch at that ball?

Extra special thanks to my research/conspiracy/song writing department for discovering this!
The world is now a safer place to be!
